Default Drive a F125 shifter kart then immediately hop onto a S2000 is not easy

I finally get a taste of the 125cc 2-stroke shifter kart. It is the quickest 4 wheels vehicle I've ever driven. I surprised myself and everyone else, by my second run, I'm already right on pace with the FTD and scorched down some series lap time. I guess all of those seat time in car and motorcycle trackdays paid off. And since it was only a demo run, it didn't count as my official time.

By the time I hopped back into the S2000, I was some what exhausted from the heat, the brutal acceleration, and the mind bogging cornering G. The transition from kart back to a car is something I would like to share. It was arkward

I would like to say thanks to Don for let me drive his kart. It was a Biesse chassis with the ICC motor in it. That SOB is FAST! I would like to also thanks Dan for let me track his S2000 once again.

check out this video, comments and suggestions are welcome

lol this is a bit like writing a Penthouse letter story and then only showing video of the part where the husband catches you and beats your ***.

but thanks for the cone carnage. looks like fun. the runs after the carnage look pretty good, too.

haha, nice analogy
yeah, I'm sorry I didn't get to capture the kart run, it was stupid fast. I'm glad the suction cup mount camera fell off at the grid not during the run.

Since Kart's are proportinally similar to Formula 1 cars, they react instantly and make your brain work much faster than a slow sports car, let alone a production car.

You really need to slow your brain down from thinking that fast in a Kart when you hop back into a car. Weight transfers in cars much slower, they respond and react much slower (even compared to a twitchy S2000), and the steering inputs also need to be much slower and smoother. Because it's hard to change driving styles that fast, Shifterkarts often cause a driver to develop bad habits that aren't comparable to driving cars.

They are a blast and a great training/workout tool, but IMO it would be better to get more seat time in cars if you plan on competing in cars.

Nice video, one of my Auto-X buddies got hooked on shifter carts a few years ago. Ended up forsaking his modified Evo and buying a shifter kart after a few fun runs. I can understand that though, in our last event the only car close to the lead kart was a Pike's Peak hill climb car.

Interesting to see the course set up they use there, gave me some ideas for our local regions.
