Default G35 Rims for AX

Hi, Looking for some info on G35 rims. I bought a set for autocross use. They were advertised as 30mm offset for the fronts and 33mm offset for the rears, but I'm not believing it because of the markings on the backside of the wheel spokes:
Front, W238, 18x8JJ, 30, Nissan, AL400,SK50
Rear, W239, 18x8JJ, 30, Nissan, AL410,SK50

I measured from the face that mates to the wheel hub to the backside of the rim and all four measure the same.

I'm thinking these are both 30mm offset (front and rear) hence the 30 cast into the spokes and I could use them interchangeably - which would work out nicely because then I could go with a square 245/45R18 tire setup and rotate front to back.

Anyone know anything different about these rims? Thanks, Rich

Looks like you're right. Do you have to keep to such "small" tires for classing? If not, I'd certainly run larger tires.

Scotts300, Yes, trying to stay in stock AX class -- even though I'm not running R-Comps, but I will be stepping up to some Dunlop Star Specs this year and I'm thinking a square setup will be interesting this time. They should have much better grip than anything I've ever used before. Rich

Hi,

I used to have the G35 wheels myself. They are 8" +30 (front) and 8.5" +33 (rear). I believe what you ended up purchasing were 2 set of front wheels.

engiNERD350Z, Did the rear rims have 33 cast into the backside of the spokes on the rim? Thanks, Rich

yeah that would suck if you ended up getting four fronts when you were supposed to buy the staggered set. That'd be bs

Now four rears, that would be a nice

<-- Is running four Rays Track wheels rears (18x8.5)

Sorry, I don't remember if the offsets were casted on. But I'm certain these sizes I provided are correct. I did find another thread with the same info I provided (see below), and I'm sure you can find others that will confirm as well.

Those are the 19" Ray's Forged wheels. The OP has the 18" allow rims which were 18x8 +30mm on all four corners. These are 23.5 pounds each I believe.

I'm jealous. I've got a set of the v.1 track wheels, but it would be really nice to have all four 18x8.5.

AZNSKY, I do think I have fronts and rears -- but I think they are identical except for that. After all, "Rear" is cast into two of the wheels. I'm just trying to figure out if all four have the same offset, which I believe they do because of the 30 cast into both the front's and the rears. But I don't understand why Nissan would label "front" and "rear" and then have them with identical offset. I've been running the 18x8 Chromed 5 spokes since new, so I'm ok with the same size but am looking forward to improved tires. Rich

everytime I think I wanna pull the trigger and run in STR i always stop myself. i can't get over the expense for what will essentially be a handicapped wheel tire setup. i feel like i'm beeing robbed of my advantage against the s2000s

I know on the Z, you can't mount the rear wheels on the front (with the bolt in the hub). There is a difference in the gaps that that bolt goes in. Is that the same with your wheels? Just curious.

I have a set of v.1 touring wheels off an '03 Z. At some point, the original owner had put a front tire (225/45-18) on one of the front wheels. When I went to mount them, the wheel with one of the front tires wouldn't go on the front hub. I was new enough to the Z that I hadn't heard about that bolt in the hub and it took me forever to figure it out. Just wondering of the G35 wheels had the same difference front and back. That, btw, is why they label the wheels front and back. The only difference is the gaps for the bolt.

I have the 18X8 G35 coupe wheels, all 30 offset. Look them up on Wiki, you will see the 7 spoke wheels you have. I also have star specs on them 245/45/18. I use them for AutoX only and use my stock 06 wheels for daily driving. The square set up and star specs were a huge improvement for me, much more competive to S2000's (can beat some now) even with my heavy roadster.

Oh, and also I removed the bolt in the front hub with a 10mm socket, it came out very easy. I can't remember if I had to do that to rotate the G35 rims or not.

Sorry, my fault. I mis-read.
