Default lexan windows for gutted doors

Just use the existing window as a template and have the lexan cut to size. Then they can easily be 'slotted" into position.
You wouldn't want to drive with these. But they are useful if you have to store your car outside, or even for use at the track on a rainy day.

Awesome. What holds them in place? i.e. what do those little brackets sit on top of? How thick is it?

It's relatively substantial since you can take out the glass, motor, etc. I'll let you know soon, as this is the next thing I'll do.

Any idea how these would hold up during towing? Did you cut the lexan yourself? This would be great since I am still rocking an open trailer =(

I think they would probably be fine for towing on an open trailer.
And no, I didn't cut them myself. Easy to find a shop to do it for you tho.

If you can leave a little bit of the track inside the door, you could also use a wing-nut or winged bolt and make the window a little taller with 3-4 hole in the base and brackets mounted to the door skin.

My friend has that setup in his FC RX7 and it works great. Very sturdy. ...but his does have the enclosed window frame, so that helps, too.

Just to hijack a bit, I found a local plastic fabrication shop that quoted me $40/side or so to cut me a pair of side windows using 1/8 lexan using my factory glass as a template. Taking it in tomorrow to make sure they know what I want, ill let you guys know how it goes.

I'd get a set as well. Maybe they'll do a small GB and discount them. I'd need mine shipped of course.

I dropped off the glass yesterday and the price turned out to be $70 a side since I understimated the area of the lexan needed. The price of $40/side was over the phone with my guestimate of the dimensions. Still not unreasonable, I should pick them up end of the week.

Yep I had them cut, came out great, though I havent had a chance to make some brackets to use them. Maybe sometime next week, they will be good to go.

I know this is like 3 months later, but did you guys get curved lexan cut?

I just removed my factory windows, tracks and motor and I am trying to do this. There is a local place here called Clear1 Racing that is no help whatsoever. They specialze in lexan windows and they only have only returned one of my phone calls and will not call me back. (I swear I have the worst luck with getting aftermarket work done) I would be willing to pay to ship pieces to me from the place you had it done in Florida or just buy curved "blanks" and do it myself. Do you think that place still has a jig for the 350Z windows?
