Looks Great!

I assume you won't be doing any autox any longer? F-prepared won't be much fun.

Again, good luck and it looks great.

Cage looks great.
Interesting how they did the door bars. I don't think I've ever seen them done like that before.

Question: Does the triangulated bar to the left of the drivers head limit seat travel or is the seat already set in place? It appears to be pretty close to the steering wheel in the pics.

The seat is fixed in place and we did pretty good measurements prior to the build. *edit: I do have small adjustments and can lean it back and lower it a bit, that will most likely help.

You know I thought it was a little close when I first got in, but my pedal length is just about perfect. The seat is very much upright with very little recline and I think that adds a bit to it so I am going to try to recline it a little.

I think that if I went back any more than an inch I would not have a comfortable full pedal travel and would be struggling. I am hoping that with an after market wheel I can maybe move the wheel away from me maybe an inch.

Glad to hear there is a little wiggle room in case you need to adjust it. These head containment seats can cause fitment issues at times, but I'd rather deal with those issue than rely on a right side window net.

Here is the custom seat mount for now. I can get pics of how and where the harness attaches this weekend.

Great job!
One thing you will find is that you will need to do something to fill in that big 'dip" in the floor where your left foot will rest. Its hard to describe, but you will know what I mean as soon as you drive the car!

It was nice out so I got the car clean and snapped some more pics, and got some of the whole car just before dark. Location sucks but I was out of time/light. Hopefully I will do a shoot that is more interesting soon.

Lots left to do on the car:

- Paint cage
- Buy used racing seat/harness for passenger, install
- SFI padding to possible driver/cage contact areas
- Freshen up calipers, install new pads, flush fluid
- Flush trans and diff fluids
- Install Nardi steering wheel, hub
- Install new wheel hubs, bearings, and ARP wheel studs
- Fabricate some brackets to hold the window switches and door handles
- Fabricate/route brake ducts, hose for brake cooling setup

A little bounce flash to show more rotor

What I race around the house when I cannot race for real...

Yup, as money allows. I also plan to install a ducting setup soon.

I do have a set of 2007 front calipers that have the dual piston, but I may just sell them and keep an eye out for a willwood bbk or set of reasonably priced OEM brembos.

I also have a brand new set of carbotech XP10's for the 2003 brakes that I may run on this season. I need to get some seat time in the new setup before anything.

My fault...I didn't read the last part of your prior post. Good luck this year.

Thanks, its got a wish list that goes on for miles. It seems that after the money set aside for seat time it leaves little left for upgrades. Slowly but surely....

I assume you have one? How do you like it? I have always wondered how different it feels on the track with one.

Well, I first started wearing one back in my HPDE/TT days...so now it is second nature.

The first issues I had where related to getting the proper seat...so that the HANS doesn't push your head forward. And then getting shoulder belts that would stay on the HANS properly.

And, it is a PIA to backup with a HANS on due to limited side and rear visibility even with good mirrors...but after a little while you get used to it. Now I arrange to have someone help me back out of the space..so that issue is solved.

So get one now and get used to it because it is MANDATORY in NASA W2W!!!

Cool. Yeah I will put it on the list. W2W is a while away due to some other priorities, but I will be doing DE's and track days this year as time allows.
