Hey Guys,
I just realized I hadn't posted any of our 2010 videos on the site here! I think a few of you might enjoy them. A quick breakdown on the car would be in order for anyone unfamiliar, so I'll try to do it in 20 words or less:
Stock body, built engine, stock heads, stock gearbox, 338whp, 18x10.5" with 280/650/18 slicks. APR GTC-300 wing and SG-Motorsport front splitter. SPL arms and spherical bushings all around, big spring rates!
We're running about 4 seconds off of the World Challenge GT cars, which have significantly more power, but are forced to run on an R-Compound. The goal next year is to close that gap, which would be quite the feat, considering they are all wide body/sequential gearbox nutty big power racecars!
Testing a prototype rear arm before switching to the SPL Mid-Link, Speed of failure was approx 110mph:
Cayuga Time Attack Lap Record:
Shannonville Long Track - 1:49:
Enjoy! Hopefully we'll have more GoPro's around the car next year to get more shots of the car. I'm thinking of making a mount that hangs a few feet off the back of the car. I think that would make for some wild footage!

Wow, damn, awesome driving. The car is so damn fast! Seems like it requires 110% focus and VERY quick hands to drive it and not die. Your shifts are blazing quick.
Crazy track in the 2nd video.....spectators are right on the track it seems, but they're just a blur at those speeds =).
Thanks for posting!

I've been reading your blog and I'm confused about your tire sizing...I think maybe it's a different unit than what I'm use to in the US. What's the equivalent of a 280/650/18 tire? or what is a 27/65/18?

Haha. A depends moment. It actually got me so pumped up. My adrenaline hasn't been that high in a long time. I wanted to do it again!?
Slicks are rated like all tires should be rated. The middle number is overall diameter. No more figuring out aspect ratio of the sidewall ********. So 650 is how tall the tire is in mm's. Michelin does it slightly differently, 27 is 270mm, 65 is 650mm. Although in actuality, the Michelin 27/65/18 is a little taller and a little narrower than the Advan 280/650/18. Makes zero sense.
We use stoptech's 332mm rotor bbk in the front (ST-40 caliper) and the stock Brembos in the rear, with Endless racing pads. I've rebuilt the calipers and installed knockback springs, and converted the rotors to floating. I am now looking at doing the Stoptech caliper relocation to help further reduce the knockback. Unitech racing that originally built the car went to manual brakes with a Tilton over-hung balance bar and dual masters. I forget the size of masters that I'm using now (I want to say .9"), but the brakes have just the right pedal effort for me.
The pads are endurance pads that are, in one word - incredible. A set of pads will last over 24 hours of racing, they were designed so that teams would not have to swap pads in an entire 24hr endurance race. Talk about a time saver. They are expensive, but only having to install new pads once a season is awesome.
