Default Race springs for Koni Yellows

I'm happy with the rear spring rates I've had with the RSR and now Cobb springs, but the front rates on all the widely available kits are only around 350lbs. I'd like to run a 500lb spring in the front for AutoX. I think anything higher would be too much spring for my Koni Yellows with "off-the-shelf" valving. I know that Hyperco and Eibach sell custom racing springs in any rate/size imaginable, but I have no idea what diameter or length to get. I'd like to keep a drop of around .75"-1" in the front. I've tried searching, but didn't come up with much. I'm on a college student budget, so Truechoice or any other higher end coilovers are out of the question for now. I'd appreciate any input from some of you guys with way more experience/knowledge than me.

I've been running 550# springs on my car. But, I have a set of 500# Tom Motorsport springs sitting in my garage. You would need to purchase a set of Koni height adjustment sleeves found on page 31 here: http://www.koni-na.com/pdf/KONI_Motorsports_2008.pdf

You can buy/order the sleeves from any authorized Koni dealer. A pair cost me approx $80 back in 2006. If you would be interested in the springs, I can sell them to you for $40 shipped. I'm in the sacramento area, so if picking them up is an option, you can have them for $25. How's that for college kid's budget? <edit: oops, I just noticed that you're from TN>

That sounds great. It looks like I need part# 30.0000.1 correct? Is the installation of the sleeves/perches pretty straightforward?

I only got the threaded sleeve and lower spring perch with locking set screw (parts 30.0000.0005 and 30.0000.0006). I reused the stock upper perch.

Jeg's of all places had the best prices by far on those part numbers (you have to search for 30-0000-0005 and 30-0000-0006) and says they'll ship out in 8 days. PMing you about the springs.

Update: Before and after pics, because when I was searching I couldn't find any proof that this would actually work.

They're at about stock height as pictured, but I'm going to lower them another 3/4" or so when I get some time. For the record, the springs are 7" long with 2.5" inner diameter.

I think at the time I had either Cobb or RSR-ti rear springs. I later ended up going with coilovers, and the car is now back to stock and for sale.

They're height adjustable, so yes you can corner balance. I would suggest grinding down the edges of the round metal piece in the center of the tophats if you're going to reuse the stock tophats. Mine were a little noisy at times, but if you just shaved a couple mm off, the springs wouldn't rub. Helper springs would be ideal if you can figure out a way to do it, because my springs would fully unload under droop once I went any lower than the picture above.
