This depresses me so much! When I got my Z I wanted to grip it but didn't want to do T2, and now I have my car all set up for drifting this comes along! I need a second Z....

10" wheels in the front are not legal.

We have a request in to go to a square set up. Laze is one of the region directors for the new series.

Also ordered a set of BFG tires this week...

So I should be ready to run no later than the June NASA-SE event @ Road Atlanta

Sounds great. I'll let you know how things feel after 4/6 and for sure after my first SpecZ event 4/15.

Uh. . . I have one for sale! Great for SpecZ (i.e. I'll sell it with no suspension or diff, PM me if interested).

And you could use the "extra" 10s (assuming they stay disallowed) as a 2nd set of wheels for stickers or wets. I have eight 10s right now as well, and a 6 non-matching 9s, so I'm ready for the rules if they stay as they are as well as if they change. Just would like to know soon so I can move things around of course. . .

$500. Joking, I wish I could take it off your hands but I'm not baller enough! This is my first full drift season and I'm having a fun enough time affording tires and hoping my engine lasts the entire season with no problems! I'll just sit and wait, hope I don't mess up my car and slowly save up.

OK, I am the National Series director for Spec Z and I haven't seen and request for a square 10" setup.

lol,

Sorry Clifton, this is what I get for not paying attention to who I am quoting. Embarrassed.

seems that Laze is falling down on the job. I thought the request had been submitted.

Here is a "wish list" complied from my350z and NASAForums

here is a list of questions or suggestions prospective racers have asked me to pursue:

1. Allow 18x9 OR 18x10 wheels in any position
2. Allow use of front camber arms
3. Delete the rule requiring a heater box
4. More clearly state that any 350z of any model can run (Base/track/etc)
5. More clearly state if a car can be updated/backdated with OEM parts (Brembo brakes on a non-Brembo car, or engine swaps)
6. More clearly state if a completely stock 350Z with appropriate safety gear can compete in Spec (i.e.without SpecZ parts)
7. More clearly state if suspensions bushing can be replaced with NISMO parts
8. Can Brake Ducting be used...with what limits
9. Can Diff Coolers be used...with what limits
10. Eliminate the wheel spacer size rule.
11. Limit fuel to 93 octane (to save $)

I encourage folks to post up any reasonable suggestion here...and we will try to get them officially answered!

List submitted and discussed over @ NASAForums...and here.

http://www.nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=55008

However, until today, I had not had the pleasure of talking 1x1 with Clifton...the REAL DEAL...Winkleman....

http://www.nasaproracing.com/2012/02...ed-as-new.html

And Marty, Clifton and I agreed that anything that you suggest...will be denied...I am just warning you

What I meant to say is; If Clifton agrees, I will run 18x10 all around... as a TEST for NASA and Nissan for a TEST ONLY to see if this should be changed in the rules.

I think this is a great list. I think some of this is already clear (4 and 5), but further clarity is always welcome. I'd love to run 9s or 10s all around as well, but couldn't care less about octane. Most of our tracks don't carry anything between 91 and 100, and we are limited to an engine-specific horsepower anyway. So can't one tune with your desired octane as you see fit? I could mix octane at the track, but what if I miscalculated the amount of gas left in my tank, and ended up at 94 octane by accident? I'm DQ'd? Bah.

I hope there is some resolve soon, as I have a race in two weeks and need wheels. Also, is there anything new about the BFG rain tire? Or is it still the KDW? With my luck, I'll buy a set of KDWs, and a new tire will be released.

You a'int kidding. Our Lemons car was nowhere near $500 (after adding in all the LEGAL items like safety, tires, wheels, brakes, etc., etc., etc.)

It's a lot more affordable once you have all the spec parts on your car. =)

Wish I could check out the race. I'll definitely be watching at Nats!

I haven't been active here for quite some but I have been racing on and off with NASA here in FLA. I'm excited about this new program and think my 03 might fit nicely in this group. I've got some work to do but look forward to a real driver style challenge.

I'll be at Sebring this weekend with NASA doing some HPDE drivin...yeehaw!!!
