Frankly, I have a huge fear of the rear end locking up at speed...that can't have a good outcome...

pretty cool...(pun intended)

But I bet they are not running a Dayum Wavetrac during testing

and ya, 30 minute restriction kinda sux...it is likely limited by the duty cycle of the water pump...but I can't see where this can be all that effective based what I can see in the pics. But Good for Nissan at least addressing the issue of Diff overheating in all Z models.

BTW: I have my traditional style diff cooler setup "mocked up" and in the car, need to make hose and some more fabrication...more to follow...with pics

So there was what looked like a Full Nismo SpecZ at CMS this past weekend. Any idea how their weekend went?

Class SpecZ
# 87 Bill Steinhoff 16 23:29.912 1:25.882 13 94.315

He is another SCCA guy coming over to NASA...I just reached out to him last week as I "heard through the grapevine" that he was coming to Road Atlanta in Aug...be didn't hear back from him.

Bill is a very good racer. Some good videos of him mixing it up with Kleeman at Sebring in their T2 SCCA days.

I'd tend to agree. I understand having additional cooperate interest/sponsorship, but they should just switch to the nismo and be done with it.

I didn't realize Nissan made that rule, thank you for correcting me. I assumed since the series is run and sanctioned by NASA that they had control over the rule book but understand that sometimes keeping the sponsors is important.

+1 leaving differential open to any brand would be the best, but I'd understand if they had to choose a single brand like Nismo, OS, Cusco, etc.. anything as long as it's not the wavecrap.

I'm not against a spec part (diff), but it should work. The nismo is cheap and a known entity (on top of it being a nissan product).

If enough people break the wavetrac they will have enough money and broken units to figure out something that works.

I see this leading to a lot of "Cheater Pumpkins".
