Just vertical mount it in that area, plenty of air flow

Making up the hoses used to be a PIA... then I purchased these "Koul Tools"

http://www.koultools.com/

and put a little grease/oil on the oil and fitting...just like using some KY jelly

Tried that..not enough room for the Oil Cooler I had in stock...it hung too low. I would need to purchase a different style cooler to to that. If this setup doesn't cool enough...I will work on Version 2 that would somehow mount a cooler vertically

Info from email discussion with Setrab Engineering:

good info! the cooler you have...50-625-7612...is a bit larger than I would ordinarily suggest for the application you indicate. It'll be fine but note: our coolers are very non-restrictive by design...your gpm will be fairly low and mounting such a large cooler with ports down may mean that the oil can enter/exit the cooler before completely filling. Optimally, we'd put you in a 50-616-7612 or smaller...or a multi-pass cooler. We'd make such recommendation in order to ensure the oil's exposure to the entire internal surface area of the oil cooler. In this instance, since you already have the -25 row unit, I'd recommend either placing the ports at the top of the installed cooler or if the ports are on the side, enter the bottom/exit the top.

Could you hang it at an angle so it wouldn't hang as low as vertical?

Yep...after the Aug race, I will fine-tune it. I am running out of time to prepare like normal

Going to a Bachelor Party tonight for my Son, then the wedding next weekend...so it will take me a week of so to Sober up for the race

I hope for the best but keep an eye on the temps. I'm thinking a sucking flow may not be optimal, but either way it should be better than nothing.

With all the Wavetrac issues, why not run OEM LSD diff instead?
Just curious...

I can't imagine it would last long (as a limited slip). It uses a fluid to give it the LSD action... I'm pretty certain after enough of high heat runs it will effectively be an open diff.

If I was running Spec Z, I would probably just have a built VLSD third member with me at the track as a backup .

When I started racing T2, I used the VLSD for the opening weekend. Even though it had a fresh change of synthetic diff fluid, the R-compound tires created enough heat and lock-up that it was essentially smoked after the weekend. The VLSD wasn't nearly as effective as either the NISMO or the Wavetrac diffs, either.

Yeah, I've never taken one of our VLSD's apart but generally the actual diff fluid(not the gear oil that is readily changed with your other fluids) is very thick and can resist a little heat. But R Comp's and track abuse should beat the fluid up enough to make it nearly useless pretty quick. Its generally, a basic planetary gear setup (like an open diff) with a super thick fluid in the internal housing. That super thick fluid "limits" how much the diff unloads to one side. However, once that internal fluid is heated to a point it breaks down and thins out to the point it can no longer perform its duty. Again, I never pulled apart a VLSD from a Z but I assume they are all fairly similar.

I will likely source the cheapest working Diff (open or vlsd) I can find to put in my "spare parts kit"...

How are ya'll dealing with heat in your sessions? I'm not doing Spec Z, but I did a track day this weekend and it was brutal in Texas! Besides a cool suit, do ya'll have air ducting for the driver installed? Pics?

this is what I use..it is a cool shirt unit but with a fresh air blower gizmo attached. I put a NACA duct in the passenger side rear quater window to feed the system. And this works great, I couldn't race 8 months out of the year in Georgia if I didn't have this...I would pass out mid-race for sure.

Note: You can purchase the blower kit seperately (or make one up) if you already have a cool shirt...but it doesn't run thru the cooler...it would just blow air ambiant temp air on your head...but that feels cool and feels very good as well....more better than nothing.

Note: I upgraded to a 986 shirt

Will any of you be going to the Road Atlanta event in December? I may have mentioned this before, but I can't remember. I am heavily considering coming down. I really want to try that track. Me and another member on here may come down and run all three days. I will still be in TTB, but either way, I would love to meet some of you guys.
