Default 13hrs at VIR Oct 27

I'm braking the news here first:
This past weekend I was at Lime Rock watching the Continental tire series and Rolex cars. I hung out with the Freedom Autosport guys. I meet Derek and Tom at Daytona this year. Derek offered me a ride in one of his well prepared Spec Miatas for the 13hrs at VIR. And if all goes well, this could turn into something for next year.
I turned in my paperwork to get SCCA licensed this morning, hopefully there's a quick turnaround.
The car won't be modified at all as my goal is to drive a 'normal' race car. I hope some of you can make it, this will be a great event (hint hint Bryan, Crawford, Mike, Marty)

The 13 hour at VIR is definitley a great event. I don't think I'm going this year, but I was there last year playing crew chief for an ITS Miata. I've crewed at this event several times, and driven it once (SM). VIR is a great track, but it does take a long time to figure out and put together.

Wow! Liam, that is a great opportunity!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it (I'll be in Key West )
I know you will do really well. Look forward to a full report!

Congrats Liam. You looked into Spec Z? Your Nismo Z is the perfect platform for it.

Mark, I'm not sure my z is the perfect platform. The HR is a great motor but an 03 is a lot lighter and will be frienlier on tires over a long run.
My Z is about to go under the knife but not spec 350. I'd rent a ride there if I could

^ Maybe. I still think the the better motor, chassis and aero will make it faster. In the limited field a Nismo Z won at Mid Ohio. Plus the front end allows better brake cooling. See Bill S. comments on another thread here. Heck you were pretty quick at VIR in a stock Nismo. I hope Spec Z gets popular enough where there are tuners prepping cars for rent as in Spec Miata.

I hope it does too.
I'd convert my car to spec class if some one would help with pricing and they trailered my car for me

I wonder how far John George is from you. He has a 40' two car trailer that often shares with other Drivers.

He's the guy ripping up WG in your vid right?
I don't know who he is.
The other issue is I need a shop now to store the car and maintain it. You know how it goes going from street car to race car.
I just need to get out of here and get my house and garage.

Correct, he and Jim with FFR (designer of the 818) live in CT as well.
