Performance Nissan Racing Headed To Daytona
Copied from a press release........ Pictures at the bottom!!
Just 44 days before the truck was scheduled to leave for Daytona, the decision was made to run two cars at Daytona. Not only was the new #23 car completed in time to leave, but also the #33 car was completely rebuilt and underwent two full days of testing at Willow Springs International Raceway. Both were loaded up in the new 53 foot High Tech trailer and are currently enroute to Daytona for the first race of the 2004 Grand Am Cup season.
“Even though the time frame for building this car was short I am extremely happy with the way the car turned out. We did not compromise our standards and have completed a racecar that we are all very proud of,” said crew chief Jackson Stewart of Unitech Racing.
Performance Nissan Racing plans to contend the 2004 season of Grand Am Cup with two Nissan 350Zs. The #33 car will be driven by Mike Cronin Jr. and Stu Hayner. Tomy Drissi of Hollywood California has signed on to drive the new #23 car. “We are very excited to be able to campaign the full season with two 350Z cars. We feel we have a real chance at the championship this year” said team owner Mike Cronin Sr.
Needless to say it took a superhuman effort by many, many people to pull this one off. Performance Nissan Racing would like to thank these people who were key in making the second car a reality.
Glenn Evans Welding. Without Glenn working nights and weekends, none of the beautiful fabrication work would have been possible.
