Who here knows what "The Mitty" is?

If so, you can understand how thrilled I am about this…
I now have my official invite to run in group 5. Looks like I will be parking next to the F1 group too. I will be surrounded by a whole lot of racing/vintage awesomeness.

Very familiar with the Mitty and congrats on your entry. If you are paddocked next to the F1 group, you'd better make sure your race prep is complete to allow for lots of time wandering around!

Ha- those pics of Can Am cars from the 60's, 70's and 80's make me think of my preferences. The later cars have such an aerodynamic advantage from burgeoning technology that are vividly illustrated sitting side-by-side or overtaking the older cars.

I wondered about that. Heard of the book and saw the movie ads. Just wasn't sure if it was referring to that. Makes sense. Would love to go and see those old cars......most of which I remember from my youth.

Not sure if I'll actually make it this year. Sadly, although it's one of our signature events, it always seems to conflict with our actual production schedule. Hopefully things will clear up and I'll actually get there this year.
If you've not been or are on the fence, I highly recommend it. You'll rarely have a chance to have such access to so many amazing cars. And it's not like a pro race where the paddock spaces are off limits to all but team members. Some of the bigger shops and teams may take steps to keep the crowd back a little, but pretty much everyone is more than happy to give you a look at the cars as close as you care to get.

We're doing a '03 350Z project car this year for STU autocross. Looking run it this season and have it competitive in time for nationals, then maybe turn it over to some of the more novice staffers for a few track days. It should make it to the Mitty, even if I don't.
