Thought about it and I actually have a pair of ones from Penske, but I don't like the idea of the weight being largely on the center of the mount with that solution. Honestly, I measured the ride height and it is about where it was before and the wheel rate is higher now, so I'll toss it on the scales in a few weeks and see where it is. If it has to go up more than a 1/4" on the drivers side I will probably have to do that.
But without them you put a nice side load on the shock shaft thru out the travel
20x12.5'....ish is expensive in the greater DC area. Oh well. No power, but I have a 3000w generator inverter that supplies power for everything I need (up to 140amp welder).
Yup, but I built a many times winning national level BSP car in a driveway for years...so this feels like a palace. Do the best you can with whatcha got, man....
It's unlikely the car will run this year. Just had to dump $6000 into my truck (trans died and injectors). I will hit the ground running in March of 2016, though.
Debating a few different potential paths: Regardless of path I am swapping the used up Cusco to an OSG and the hopefully a few hours in a wind tunnel to fine tune the aero.
1) Swap to Sequential trans (hit on p/w modifier) and find creative ways to get more weight out. Leave the motor alone and stick with 275 A7's.
2) Top end rebuild along with revup oil pump and rod bolts to try and get to 325whp...preferable without ethanol to get there and stick with 275 A7's.
3) Focus on getting weight out and run real slicks (probably medium compound pirelli's). Also spend a bit more to maximize the aero.

Anyone want a Kirk Roll Bar? $450 picked up in MD. Harness never mounted, etc. I'm going to ahead and have the car caged. I want to gut the doors, get rid of glass, etc but can't door that without the full cage. Probably also get rid of the speaker box crap that I had left in there for additional rigidity. Goal weight should be about the same as with full doors, speaker box and the roll bar.
Haven't done a thing the past 3 months on the car, but bought a quickjack and tested it out. Other than that, just got the shocks back in and the car on the ground. The next month will be spent getting every ounce out and getting the car down for the cage in 4 weeks. Even on the shortest rubber pucks it's a good height to work on it from underneath.
If you don't mind, which version of Quickjack did you get?
Just the 3500. The car only weighs 2800lbs. We'll see how it does with the Focus ST here shortly. If I did it again, I would probably get the 5000 for the wider footprint.
Does anyone have experience with the Megan RCA's? Off the shelf options are limited for roll center adjustment....the other option looking much the same in terms of material but 3x the price. Thanks.
Everything starts going back together starting this week. Still have to parse through the wiring and get a bit more of the sound material off the trans tunnel, but other than that it is just putting it all back together and fabbing some of the stuff for the aero and exhaust. WILL be on track March 12-13 .
