Nissan Motorsports has released the latest contingency award program for the 2015 SCCA Majors road racing program. Although the 350Z had been supported at a higher level as a "current" model in the past, for 2015 only the 370Z, GT-R and latest Sentra qualify for that status. That means the Z33 passes into the same category of racecar as older models like the Datsun 240Z, 510 or Nissan 300ZX and 200SX.
For the SCCA Majors series, properly registered Nissan Z33 racers can earn $250/$150/$100 for 1st/2nd/3rd placings, if there are at least five cars competing. Current model Nissans make double that for a 2015 race win, but winning a Majors season title in any conference pays $1,000 for either current or older model Nissans.
Since the Z33 hasn't been produced since 2008, I thought it was generous of the company to treat it as a "current" model up through last year. Not sure if there are that many Nissan racers left on My350Z, but I wonder what others think of this change?

Now that the C5 is allowed in STU and a lot of "aliens" are prepping C5's for the class, it looks like an up-hill battle. (In STU anyway)
My brother and I will see what we can do anyway.

While this thread is primarily about Nissan's road racing program, it's good to have serious solo racers on here as well. And while I haven't seen the contingency program for solo, I think there's a good chance that any Z33 racers going to Nationals will have a similar program to what's available to road racers going to the Runoffs.
Last year Nissan only paid out first place at Nationals. $500 for non-current models $1000 for current models. No payout for other national events or 2nd-3rd. Better than nothing.

I'd still suggest most Solo competitors register with the Nissan Motorsports program. Discounted parts for your racecar, delivered to your doorstep, plus access to the Nissan VPP program.

Thanks for posting that NISMO page from the Z34B brochure, but it's more of the same. If Nissan could ever get their NISMO marketing plan in order, they might be able to make some significant inroads into making a buck. Not that any of these items are cheap, but these offerings are more on the level of what Z33 and Z34 owners have seen in the past.
Nissan Motorsports still has a 2022 Racer Contingency program available for SCCA, NASA and SCCA TT programs this year.
