dkmura in the hospital.
Hey guys, hopefully David won't mind me starting this thread, but apparently he had a bad crash this week at High Plains Raceway here in Colorado. From what I've read, the accident happened at the end of the long straight due to total brake loss while testing a Infiniti street car (no cage). Even my slow butt is doing well over 110mph at this section of the track.
Here's a link to the Colorado SCCA thread regarding David. This is the only info I have on it, but wanted to share with you guys so that perhaps you could send him some positive thoughts. Sounds like he was actually on a ventilator for a while, so it must have been pretty bad. From what I've read, he's off the ventilator now and was in good spirits. But again, that's just what I've seen on the local forums.
So please send him your positive thoughts and prayers. It never hurts.
I hope you're doing well David if you happen to read this while you're stuck in the hospital. Get well soon.

Just spoke with David and while he's still in the hospital, he's doing well.
He sustained back injuries and some initial internal bleeding but fortunately, appears there's no permanent damage. No damage to spinal cord as he's mobile (or as mobile as one could be after an off course shunt with a tire barrier fronting a concrete wall!)
He's got a fair amount of recuperation required going forward but he's very upbeat and pragmatic about the whole thing. And as the consummate racer's racer, says it's going to be "a while before he's back in the race car".
Oh, and being the Nissan guy that he is, wants to assure everyone that the Q60 he was testing "is an amazing car and not to think there's 'something wrong with it' because of this incident! Hahahahahaha!!!
So, continue sending along your thoughts for a speedy recovery. Nothing better than the encouragement of friends and peers to help him back to full health.

That's great news, Mic, and thanks for the report. Best wishes to Dave, and hopefully he's got some attractive nurses taking good care of him. I'd be happy to pick up a shift pr two if I was local
