Default Nissan 350Z PRO Race car Build

Hey, I`m 33 years old I love cars and racing since I was a little boy and I would like to tell you my story !

I have the Z since last year and had a light damage on the front right. After almost fixing it a friend of mine told me that the new season of the National Time Attack is coming up and that i should race with the car.....and SO I DID !
I had 2 weeks to prep the car ( The car was bone stock),in such short time I did the obvious,
RACING: Brake Pads ,Brake lines ,Brake fluid ,Tyres ,Oil cooling, different wheel alignment from stock and basic maintenance like fresh oils, spark plugs.....and so on.
AND I WENT RACING, I did not know the track, I did not know the rules, not even where the registration office was.....everything was new.
In the first Race of the season in my class was 18 cars I finished 12....
Second race DNF, the throttle body broke....
Third race of the season I Finished second place.....AND THEN IT ALL STARTED

That year I started to upgrade the car from next race to the other to keep up and try to beat the Turbo cars, some times I did some times the car broke but I did not give up.

And now I decided to build the Z into a PRO RACE CAR to beat the others even with Turbo Cars !!!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your build. Beautiful car. Please share photos of suspension?

I'm going through a transition in my build. Buying a Cayman set me back financially for a few months so I decided to take the summer off from the track. I'll get back to my build thread soon. Just a few things to do before October, not a complete rebuild or anything... I had a "mad bug" since last summer but fortunately have not broken down at any point yet.

Thanks ! The car has stock suspension I ordered some parts but not the suspension right now. I'm going to start with the chassi and go from there.
At the moment I started work on the work shop where the build is going to be. Hope in 1-2 weeks to finish because the car has to be done for next year.
I hope this build to be a good one and I'm also open to advice from you guys that have done this !

Welcome- it's always good to see the Z33 being raced in other venues. As someone who races in the USA, I'm always curious about how it works in other countries. Who does the sanctioning and organizing for your time trial competition? Do they really pay much for a pro competition? Also, do you own the well-equipped shop your car is prepped at, or do you work there?

Dr Hoon: Thank you !!!

DKMura: We have the Romanian federation of motorsport and other organizations with the support of the federation organize events in Rally, Drift, Hillclimb, Endurance series, Time Attack...and so on...
We need Racing License and depending on the Sport the car has to be in spec
In Time Attack i was in class '' Tuned '' for example the safety was not mandatory but recommended but in other classes like Race, Pro, Pro GT....etc. was mandatory so it depends
As for the workshop I bought a place and started last week to make it a proper place to build a race car, the place is a s**t hole but I hired some construction guys to make it better

that lift is a step above what most guys are doing. I just have jack stands & a couple of nice jacks and a broken toe to prove it.

what did you do with the engine when you pulled it? I was surprised to see you pulled the engine but haven't touched the suspension so the engine must have been toast?

No problems with the engine, I pulled the engine out for 2 reasons:

1. I bought the car with slight damage on the front right and the front had a slight bend and the engine was in the way
2. With the engine out is much easy to change the headers, the problem was because they were China after install tried to put the engine back but driver side header was hitting the steering shaft......so finaly only ended up with installing decats and Y pipe

I did not swap the suspension because I had only 2 weeks time and to order them I had to wait 20 days...

Thanks for the details, but let us know what kind of money is awarded for this PRO series? How much have you made for 2022? Here in the states, it's mostly contingency for tires, brake pads, etc. for Time Trials.

Here is no money ))) Only some products like oils and stuff. In the Pro series as far as I seen 1st place won 1000Euro and this was a Rally event.....

This is a Time Attack event here in Romania where I won

Nice video Dorin! I paid more than that for last weekend and I had to instruct to get that price lol. But that's deceiving, have to adjust for wages and cost of living to get the real picture.

beautiful!
I want to get some stucco filler to put in the concrete stress dividers in my garage. I did that at my previous house and haven't gotten around to it here. I like having one large smooth surface so when I roll over it it doesn't threaten to snag. I've already fallen off my rolling chair.

Looks nice- the secret to putting down epoxy flooring is all in the preparation. a good wash and thorough muriatic acid etch really gives the paint something to hang onto.
