PERFORMANCE NISSAN RACING EXPERIENCES DÉJÀ VU ALL OVER AGAIN
May 28, 2004 – Rosamond CA
Performance Nissan Racing was leading the Grand Am Cup Mont Tremblant
250 when the half-shaft gremlins once again surfaced, putting the #33 350Z of Mike Cronin Jr. and Stu Hayner 7 laps down. Blake Rosser, at the wheel of the #23 350Z, was running a strong 4th place and preparing to hand the car over to Kelly Collins when he sustained a broken wrist, the result of an altercation with another car. “The 20th and 21st place finishes were not what we had hoped for, but the cars were fast and the
drivers did a great job qualifying 4th and 6th. After replacing the
half-shaft in the #33, Stu was consistently the fastest car on the
track. We feel we are getting closer to a win with every race”, said Unitech Racing crew chief Jackson Stewart.
Due to Blake Rosser’s injury, Performance Nissan Racing is searching for a funded driver for the next one or two races for the #23 350Z. Blake hopes to be back in action soon.
At Unitech Racing, Inc. construction has begun on the third 350Z. Mid Ohio will mark the debut of the #32 Performance Nissan Racing 350Z. “We are starting to line up funded drivers for our 3rd car. The cars are proving to be very fast and that has generated serious interest in our program,” said Performance Nissan owner Mike Cronin Sr.
The crew is currently busy preparing the #23 and #33 for the upcoming round of the Grand Am Cup at Watkins Glen. They feel the ongoing problem with the half-shafts has been solved and are looking forward to the next race. The Watkins Glen race will be run Saturday June 19th at 2:00pm Eastern Time. Speed will air the race June 27th at 3:00pm Pacific Time. Please check your local schedule as they do change the times.
Speed Channel has changed the airtime of the Mont-Tremblant race to 3:00pm Pacific time Sunday May 30th.

Hope they have it figured out since it seems to have cost us almost every race!

Yea, I keep saying the same thing! It's taken them awhile to figure out a fix... not sure what that is yet, probably some race secret

I emailed Jackson and I am probably headind out to Willow next week anyway, so I will stop by the shop. Who knows?? I see the PN Trailer parked there almost every other week I am up there and I wish it was me!!
How much is Unitech asking for a seat in a single event? I may be able to scrape together a few sponsor bucks if it's reasonable. Problem is it would have to be at a track that I know and WGI is upon us way too soon. Maybe next year.
