Default I run on 97.2 octane yesterday...

Recently I found out how to mix gas with Toluene (C7H8) to bust octane rating... So I desided to try and made 10 galons of 20% mixture yesterday, which results in 97.2 octane rating...

OMG! What a difference in engine behaviour... More here:

I got toluene in Sherwin-Williams at $10 a gallon... Not chip... It consted me about $30 for half-tank...

You know, $10 a gallon really doesn't seem as bad as it might have a few years ago...

I saw that the local Home Depot has Xylene for $10 a gallon as well. Xylene is 117 octane v the 114 of Toluene.

Well, I've red that some guys were able to get Toluene for $5 - $6 a gallon. $10 is totally okay for racing days. I just meant $60 for a tank of 97.2 is kind of pricey for everyday driving...

I'm going to do it for atoxes only

You might want to try Sunoco/Trick 104. It is 104
octane unleaded and if you get in 55 gallon drum
is around $4.00 a gallon.

55 gallon drum sounds a little big for my garage...

In the SoCal area some gas stations sell the Trick
and some race tracks sell Sunoco. The regular dealers
also sell 5 gallon cans but at a slightly higher price.
I ran this fuel in my DSR until SCCA made it illegal.
It made as much power as the 112 octane I run now at
a much lower price.
