Grand Am Cup at VIR 10/1 - 10/3 :: who's going?
really will depend on the weather........if it is cool and sunny
2:06's arent out of the question. I believe we were in the 2:07's in practice adn the Mustangs were in the 2:06 range. Should be a real battle again.
Hopefully are bad luck is over.

I'm going to park my car over next to the tent, and hopefully will just run into people there. My car can be identified by the squirrel clever attached to the front end.
Hey guys... a little update here.
First of all, tickets
There was a mix-up when VIR mailed our tickets. They sent us all our Saturday only tickets, but they sent Sunday tickets instead of the three-day passses. Before I could suggest will-call, the remainder of the tickets were mailed... I will have them today. Those of you getting three-day passes will recieve them Wednesday after I overnight them to you. Saturday only people, you should see yours Wednesday or Thursday depending on where you are located. I should also be receiving enough program vouchers for everyone... including the Saturday only people. Those I don't mail will receive them Saturday when Marty and I get there.
Parking. Someone posted earlier asking about paying for parking. Marty and I replied that we thought it would be included in our 'car corral'... well, we were wrong. I'm being told that anything on the 'track side' of the bridge is considered infield parking and there will be a charge. I don't know yet what that charge will be, but I do plan on having the tent and car corral in the infield. Had we been informed from VIR about this, we could have planned better for it - I apologize. I am going to do everything I can to have us parked togeter (i.e. a car corral) AND near the tent. When you come across the bridge on Saturday, look for Triangle Z Club signage.
Tent location. They still will not give me a straight answer on where we will be set up. Turns out that registration for the event itself is so high, they are actually having to use the skidpad as overflow paddock parking for some participants! I suggested the spectator area nearer the bridge and it is being considered. I'll know for sure on Tuesday (I hope).
Parade laps I was told early on that parade laps would be unavailable for any group at this year's event. There was simply too much going on all weekend to fit them in.
Thank you all for your patience
-Stacy

I wouldn't call it uncooperative, more overwhelmed. This years event will have record attendance and VIR can not be as flexible as in years past.
The ticket mix-up has been a PIA, but VIR has tried hard to fix it quickly. I just wished they had talked to us first before trying to fix it. As it is, Stacy and I are going to eat a bit of overnight mailing cost. I think we have it straightened out though. We Just need to get this tent location, and we should be good to go. Expect an email and a post as soon as we know where we are going to be.
