hey stack thanks for the idea of checking out corvetteforum for help with the helmet!
it turns out they have a big thread going on about this track day too. i got to talking to them and one guy just got that exact pyrotect sa200 helmet off ebay but it was too small . i found out he lives in charlotte so i rode down today and picked up a brand new in box black full face for $180!
its a cool helmet i would recommend it for the price any day!

LOL j/kI haven't been organized enough to set up any kind of Z parking... although we will try to put up our Triangle Z Club signs to signify where most of us will be.
See you there!!
Stacy
Well, a better way to think about it is this.... the driver's meeting STARTS at 8:00... and you need to be there for that.
It just means you'll have to cut the partying short Friday night
but thats a small price to pay in order to not feel miserable getting up so early Saturday morning.

Hats off to TZC for throwing an exciting / well-organized event. Lots of fast cars, good students, and best of yet, no bent metal. Had a blast on track, great way to kick off the 2005 season... too bad I fried a trailer bearing on the way home... oh well...

too bad the pulley shredded off my C6 which knocked the harmonic balance up which unsealed the crank shaft which blew all the oil out and ruined my motor which left the car undrive able so two guys i just met there trailered it for me and drove me home
but up untill that it was great my 2nd and 3rd sessions were some of the best track time ive ever had!

yeah it is a documented problem a few have had.
its just a humbling experience to have your supposedly world class sports car be rolled on a trailer and towed away 2hours by peope youve never met becasue it sounded like forks in a blender and a crowd of people were gasping after they saw the whole pulley system hanging down in front of the engine
its just a bad deal. im on my way to the dealer now to try to figure out what to do
it was fine all day but a couple people came up to me and said the saw black smoke from under the car while they were behind me. and i guess i threw some oil too out there
stack, marty did any one there tell you guys about this?

I was kinda out of it on Saturday cause I was bummed about my own car being out of commision - but damn!
This even proved to be one of attrition - I know of at least two other cars that had engine failures of some sort as well.
Hope things work out!!

no theve already talked to the plant in bowling green and they are replacing the washer to put the pulley back on. then they can see if it lost too much oil. to be honest this problem has nothing to do with this weekend upon doing a little research i realized that my car had shown symptoms for the last month1
about a month ago i got a low coolant level warning that quiclt went away . i come to read today that a problem witht the accesory belt makes warning messages appear so it had probably been loose for a while but i hadnt really driven hardly at all untill saturday
this could have happened going to mcdonalds and back they are already in the process of making it right . i printed off about 15 pages of other incidents and they acknowledged the problem (according to the dealer) so hopefully it will work out. ill let you guys know
