I was just wondering, is the process for removing the shift **** the same for a manual 2006? In other words, do I have to also unclip it?

I do not see how a cosmetic mod like this could ruin the AT.

I have a manual, and it was said that you have to be very careful in taking it out or you run a possible risk of messing up your tranny for the presure aply to unscrewing it. It is so darn hard to get off, I try... I could not get it off.

Dont see how this cosmetic mod could ruin the AT, unless you get violent with it. I have had mine in since i started this thread in 05. I have a spair Center shifter for the AT and its pretty hefty. But doing this mod for the AT is not bad and the parts come off easy.

I can see the possible risk for the MT and unscrewing it from the shaft, as the AT has a retaining clip holding it on. But you just have to take it easy when unscrewing the **** from the MT stick. You may want to use one of those rubber strap wrenchs on both the **** and shaft.

I can't find it in the catalog, but I would use the "Contact Us" link and ask someone.

Thanks for your insight... I think I am just going to hold off on it, sounds like to much work.
