I have a question for anyone who has done this mod.

Would the 6MT plastic cover fit in place of the AT one? I would think it would but I wanted to make sure before I bought it.

I found one I can buy and I really want the boot to fit better than I can get it with the AT piece in there. I don't mind spending the extra cash if it will provide a much better fit for the boot.

Only you can answer that question... Anything you do to your car is a personal decision... I think a lot of us fall into the trap of trying to please others and gain acceptance especially on this board.

I'm confused about the installation of the leather boot. Can you just slip it underneath the shift gate or not?

What's the point of disassembling the console?

So, if I take the blue extender rod out, can I put the OEM **** back on and just have it sit lower?

Also, How do you guys get the **** to sit so low? I'm thinking of going with the black momo automatica and the black momo performance boot. Would I have to do any shaving or anything to fit these two on there?

I was just wondering, does anyone have any pics that are not of the momo ****?
I wanted to try something different, but I wanted to see how they looked before I did it.

Can we just slip the boot underneath the belt, instead? Like how it's done on the G35 sedans. Sort of like this:

probably but why would you want to? The look for the Z's shifter **** looks much classier than the G35's.

Because, covering the entire ring/assembly looks a little ricer-ish and poser-like. It's a 5AT, and I don't want to pretend like I'm trying to cover up the fact.
