So.. is there still someone that sells these pre colored? I went to Lowes today and only found a 3/4 and 1 inch plug, that didnt come with a gasket, or a stopper... kinda useless.
Figured it would just be easier to buy a kit

just ordered that one, because I couldnt find any decent ones at a local home depot.... only like 1 buck shipped so its not really a big deal, but now that i think about it, i think the perfect size is 7/8 so might have to order another one.

Just got mine in the mail. Looks kinda big at 1 1/4 inch. Does anyone know how big the hole is in the trunk? I may have to do some modification to get this to fit.

Ok great thanks, I figured it was way too big. So 7/8ths is the right size? Let me know how it fits. I need to go to Lowe's and find a smaller plug.

well painting was a no go on my hillman metal plug so I decided to leave it as is, it doesnt really bother me... I ended up putting seam sealant on the edges of the hole and all around the inside to prevent any water leakage, but other than that it seems to be holding well....kind of wish I would paint the piece, but maybe ill get around to it sometime later in the summer... pics coming soon

Put this in yesterday. Hatch plastic is probably the toughest plastic to pull out of the car (trust me, I know!). Used a butter knife to get it started and she came out ok. Wiper came off fine too, and the plastic cover literally fell off so not sure where people had issues.

Used the stopper like other people had mentioned from Home Depot (even though I work for a competitor..shhh). The silver top even matches the silverstone paint decent! Might not even bother with a repaint. Looks pretty water tight too, I don't imagine any issues.

Between the hatch plastic, weight, wiper and motor, I figure another 10lbs or so off the car

If you are doing this in 20 degree weather like I am, I would suggest getting some heat into the plastic panel before you go and try and yank the clips out of decklid. Plastic breaks pretty easy when cold
