Andy,

Don't worry about the wires. I was in the same situation as you when I first did mine 06+ headlights. Since I know that in the engine bay gets pretty hot and the headlights gets hot already that it should be fine. Done it but not only once but like I don't know 10+ times and they are all still fine (well nobody reported to me that they are having issues ) The steps I used to open up my 06+ is the same exact step I wrote about in this thread. If you still have questions, feel free to ask.

Did mine a few weeks ago and here is the best pic I have of them. I'll see if I can take a better pic tomorrow.

I'm seeing a mixture of either Krylon spray paint for plastic, reg spray paint, and high temp paint. Is the high temp needed because I have a can of Krylon and don't want to buy other paint if it's not needed. Thanks

I can concur with 100% that an '03 outter lens cover will fit on the > '06 bixenon.

I personally made the swap myself (due to a crack on the 06 lens) and it fits perfectly and it's aligned with the screw holes.

Thanks omega6 you always been a big help. BTW did you use another OEM outer lens or generic brand?

Does anyone have pics of a chrome silver 03-05 with just the housing painted, not the reflectors..I have an 04 Touring Roadster with a black top so I am interested in doing this, but I'm not sure how it will look only partially painted with my color.

Nice!!! I may end up doing just that... Was the brightness affected at all? I see you fully blacked out the top part as well. Is the signal bulb still as visible?

I luv 03-05 headlights blacked out. Way better then 06 IMO. However 06 has the cleanest classy look stock. Guess this is next.

So does anyone have a preference now for what to use to seal the lights? Maybe the stuff you guys used didn't hold up years later?

Way better! Had a buddy of mine redo the lenses at Honda. Baked at 225 for 10 min. Pulled apart super easy. Painted everything black but the parts that reflect the bulbs. I painted the projector housing purple (my accent color). Took a while to tape and paint but you see the results. The bandaid is there cuz when I pulled the tape off it pulled some of the chrome off. I got mad but then put the bandaid on. Personally think they turned out awesome. So much happier. I didn't use anything to put em back together. All I did was bake again and push and squeeze back together. Washed my Z the next day and no leaks or condensation. I still need the chromed signal light so it doesn't reflect orange. Other than that. They are awesome. Spent a lot of time to make em pretty. Lemme know what you guys think.

I don't think the purple looks good at all. Even though I understand the reason for the bank aid, I think the peeled chrome would look better. Not feeling it at all.
