Looks pretty good. I would do something about the factory light in there though. It clashes with the LED's.

I did the same thing with red LED's; however, I hooked mine into my subwoofer, so that the LED brightness varies with how hard my sub is being driven.

Bump for a 3-year old thread. OP, thanks for the idea - just did this to my '08, and it looks great.

Pic after dark:

Wish I had taken a "before" pic - the difference is very dramatic.

Looks good man, I think I'm gonna have to do this. It's definitely not bright enough back there when it's completely dark.

Is there any way to maybe mount the led's on the side of the trunk with the where the wheel is?

The strips are self-adhesive, so you can mount one wherever you want, but how do you think it will look mounted to one of the side panels? Not good, I'm guessing.

Yeah, that is true. i was just trying to think of where i could mount it other than the strut bar. because im going to have a sub enclosure that is going to fit right under the strut.

ive seen this done on the bottom side of the hatch. it was fairly well hidden, it was just kind of purpose defeated once you leaned over into the trunk. pretty neat idea though

Perhaps the rear edge of the headliner, or the front edge on the hatch? If on the hatch, the wiring would be a lot more trouble, though, as you'd have to run the wires through that rubber conduit which protects the wiring for the center brake light and wiper motor. I've got a sub box, but it's stashed in the compartment behind the driver's seat, so it's out of the way.

Ill probably do it on the rear edge of the headliner, that seems like a good spot and it would still make a big difference for the lighting.
