Nice right up. How do you remove the stock base Mirror? and also, what model Homelink did you buy?

Jacob, nice write up. I have a easier DYI though for newbs who dont like working on cars.

Step 1 Get in your car
Step 2 Drive to your local Nissan Dealership
Step 3 Trade your base in for an Enthusiast or higher model.

Got it out of touring 06 model from a JUNK YARD. You can use any of them as long as you get pigtail with it.

There is one in the ALTIMA V6 (I think 04)...there is also more with the XTerra with the outside temp display, etc.. guess it just depends on what you prefer.

Where the mirror mt is - there a small opening - small enough to get a small flathead screwdriver in there. I should slide right off you have the screwdriver in the right spot..

As far as model goes - thats up to you.

bottom 2 are cut from my 06 base, top right was from the harness that came with the mirror i bought, these are the plugs for the a pillar, was hoping i could just plug n play but had to cut.

Heres a picture of the mirror:

on a side note, having trouble programming the mirror, able to power it on and off, I have 2 garage remotes i tried to program nothing, (no rolling codes, one liftmaster and one genie) also tried to reset it nothing. Theres a green light on, but cant get it to blink according the the programming instructions. Only buttons that seem to work are the on and off button.

I have finished all the wiring and actually tested it to make sure it works... and all the wiring is fine.

My problem is that I can't get my old mirror off for the life of me. Please help.
