Default BREMBO Touch up paint for $5.00

Hello,

Here's a quick guide I made on making your own touch-up paint for under $5.00.

You can get both of these metallic enamels from Hobby Lobby in the model car isle.

What you'll need:

Paints
Q-tip or brushes (whichever you like)
Mixing Board
Some sort of cleaner to clean your calipers.

Here's the paint you'll need. It's TESTORS brand, and the brown is called "brass" and the orange I forgot.. Sorry but just compare colors lol, it's on the same rack.

Closer look at the orange so you can compare

So first you'l open your orange, and mix it all up. Then pour the same size as the lid, or a nickle out on your mixing board like so.

Do the same with the brown, and add ONE DROP. Let one drop fall from its own weight into the orange.

Magic happens and brembo colored paint comes out.

Start small, build your layers up and clean your edges and you'll get the outcome like so.

(white lines are dust, not scratches ;-) )

Now I didn't sand or prep other than just cleaning so you can still see the edges if you get down and look. However, from standing distance you can hardly tell and it looks better than previous knicks and scratches.

Thank you and enjoy...

Were the last 2 pics you took before or after the paint dried? Also, how well does it stand up to heat?

You know thats a good question. I drive normally and don't track it so I'm not too sure. This diy would be for your day to day driver wanting to clean their ride up a little.

I just realized that you're in DFW. You should come out to the meet we're having next weekend.

A lot of us locals like to track our Zs and many of us have Brembos so I'm sure we'd all be interested in seeing how it turned out in person.

I don't have any OEM Brembo's... I'm tempted to ditch the tune and just spend around $1,000 and get a used set...Dang I wantz dem bad!

OP yeah come to the meet we're having on the 15th of this month! Thanks for the little write up as well!

Definitely come to the meet if you can. I'm in north Fort Worth and would like to check them out sometime if you can't make the meet.

I plan to powdercoat my Brembos, but this could be a nice temporary fix for cheap.

I'm surprised someone who works at a paint shop hasn't bottled up the brembos color n sold it as touchup paint yet. I'd easily pay $10-20 for a bottle.

Will this paint melt off if you heat up the calipers on the track?

I cant answer about on track performance, BUT so far daily "spirited driving" it holding up well over all with slightly darker discoloration, I will just re-apply when needed. still looks better than a small chip!!

The paint will stay on fine but do NOT get this if you're wanting to color match as it's not the right color (i.e., darker once dried)
