I just recently bought those new Hawk Ceramic Pads and had them put on last week. I was using the stock pads before and 90% of the dust has been eliminated!
They work great but one thing, they squeal quite a bit when coming to a stop. I think I need to buy some of that stuff at AutoZone to remedy that..... A definite thumbs up for these brake pads! -Ricky-

Ceramic compounds tend to work fine in the 100-650F range, it is at the cold or hot extremes where they wear faster or lose friction coefficients.......semimetallics tend to do better at hotter extremes.
Ceramic name just means that one of the 25 ingredents is potassium titanate. Oem are Ceramics.
After a few years and many tries we will know what works without too must loss in stopping distance from 60 mph. You can be asssured that oem pads stop best at least on single 80-60>zero emergency test stops.
Few ever test to the accuracy of 5 foot stopping distance....."They feel ok to me is the usual answer"........not they only added 5 feet to my stopping distances and 10 feet in cold weather.
Brake pads/tires are between you and the jury and your insurance company...........watch out for coverage denial with aftermarkets if you are ever in a serious accident where someone is killed......the investigators test everything to shift negligence to you........who ever the survivors are!
Driving too fast for conditions often means for the cars condition or components and of course the driver.
