Check out RaceShopper. Excellent price ($112) and you get a set of speed bleeders. While you're there loko at their Hawk brake pad prices.

I'm run a set on my Zed since summer and they work well.

Thanks, I have a set of R34 callipers and rotors coming, so I have to see what pads I will need, but I am definately going to try and get the Hawk Pads. Think they will be the same as the Brembos?

So you say Russel makes good stainless brake lines? I thought stoptech was the best?

Russell has been around for awhile. I don't know hwo much better or worse than Stoptech they are, but they're affordable and have a solid reputation - good enough for me.

I'd confirm that the R34 calipers take the same length and fitting as the Brembo package.

r34 calipers are the same as the Brembo golds....same lines, same pads

stoptech makes an awesome set of lines as does Goodridge (which we happen to sell)

cannot go wrong with any of them

The stainless steel does not allow the line to flex as much under brake pressure so you get better braking.

I have the stoptech lines and they give the brembos alot better pedal feel. The brakes are very linear and never get spongy. The pedal pressure applied is very accurate.

I have a set of Goodridge SS Lines that are new, never used & still in the box if you are interested. I ended up buying the stoptech big brake kit (which includes the SS lines).

Looks? Since you can't see the brake lines when the wheels are on, I wouldn't consider this to be an aesthetic upgrade!

The aftermarket lines are made of Teflon, which doesn't expand as much from pressure as the factory lines. Since Teflon is very fragile, it is covered with a layer of stainless steel braid to protect it from abrasion or from damage due to road debris. In addition, the StopTech lines have a clear plastic cover molded over the stainless weave to protect the steel from corrosion and to prevent the lines from acting like hacksaw blades if they are improperly routed and rub against anything.

The result of properly installed stainless lines is better pedal feel. By removing flex from the system, you end up with on the order of 1/16" less pedal travel and a more linear response to driver brake inputs. That amount might not seem like much, but it really helps, especially when using the brake pedal as a platform from which to execute heel-toe downshifts. It's much easier to do when brake pedal travel is minimized.

Bottom line - the brake pedal will feel firmer after you upgrade your lines.
