Why I don't like drilled rotors
While (finally) cleaning my Z a couple days ago, I noticed radial cracks on each of my rear aftermarket Track rotors. Each rotor had only one similar crack per side. The rotors had been subjected to about 10 track days.
Not sure when it happened, but I bleed my brakes before EVERY track event, and this is the 1st time I noticed them.
New slotted only 2 piece replacements have been ordered.
I knew there was a reason I chose my slotted front BBK.
So kids, make your choice wisely.
D*mn.....can't get the pix to attach!!!

What aftermarket rotors are they? I would think that that would be expected after 10 track days. How many track days should a set of rotors last?

Marketing aside, I've never found a practical difference between a slotted and drilled. I find its far more important to get a pad that will behave with the specific metal compound of the rotor...this, and proper ductiong, promotes goo pad and rotor life. Lots of vey badass cars use drilled rotors from the factory (I am talking money no object cars). Surely they had slotted or solid rotors at their disposal (these are cars costing 75k and up). Not saying there is a specific reason they went to a drilled rotor, but poo-pooing the idea off the bat cannot be a very good way to look at things. FWIW, I have had drilled rotors on several of my own track only cars...the small hairline cracks are normal and tend to go away after a rotor is cut.
Now, what I will grant you, is like everything in life, there are good and bad manufacturing processes...this is what tends to seperate products such as this in my experience.

Has anyone tried out these EBC rotors? I was thinking about trying them out. Their dimpled not drilled.
