Default Help...trying to remove alignment pin from rotor

Has anyone run into this problem when installing new rims. I'm trying to put on my new 19" rims from axis (said was made for the Z). But, between 2 of the bolts on the rotor is an alignment pin. I tried removing it, but I think its stripped.
Is this an alignment pin, and can it be removed? It won't go all the way into the slot on the backside of my rim.

Thanks for any help.

James

Yes it needs to be removed. It should just unscrew using a 10mm socket or wrench.

Is that whole alignment pin screwed into the rotor? It looks like 2 pieces - 1 with the hex head (about 1/4") that sits on top of the cylinder shaped pin thats about 1/2". The cylinder shaped piece is connected to the rotor.

I just don't want to try and screw that cylinder piece out if its permanently connected to the rotor. But, if I just remove that hex head piece, I still think the alignment pin will be too long to go into my new rims.

Thanks alot! Couldn't get much sleep last night. Dreaming of how these rims will look on my ride once I get the hotchkis installed.

Can the whole pin be removed, or just the hex part?

whole pin. It's only used so you wouldnt rotate the tires from rear to front as the widths are different. It's only a safety precaution thing. Just remove it, pop on the wheels, and go pick up some honeys.

Thanks. I finally got the stripped one removed. I got the new 19" axis hiro's on now. The only thing I don't like about them are that the outside lip of the rims seems to stick out further than the tire. I know I need to be careful when parking near curbs.

Tire sizes are fr - 245/35/19 9.5", and rr - 235/30/19 10.5"

Gonna get the hotchkis springs installed this afternoon. Whoo-hoo!
