Default Noise with Hawk pads

I just finished changing my brake pad to Hawks brake pads for Brembo and now I hear a grinding noise when I lightly apply my brakes. However, when my brakes are applied harder there is no noise. Anyone have a clue what might be causing this and a solution? I am thinking that there is a wear period for the new pads. I don’t know… HELP!!

This is my first car with any kinda of high performance breaking system so I was not aware of having to bed these pads. I've changed pads on numerous of types of import/domestic car and never heard of bedding until now. I'll give it a try tonight but the only problem is finding a long empty strip for me to do this on; don't want to look like a fool on the highway or cause a wreck.
