Default Street Coilovers

I want to improve my suspension/handling and lower my G356MT approx .7 inches. I will not be going to the track. I have been reseaching for about six months. I want a nicely dampened ride without bounce, the HKS RS coilovers seem like a good choice. Anyone out there have some experience with these?

nimso s-tune

.8" drop, no bounce, slightly more stiff than stock, warrenty.

Not 100% if you can put it on the G though.

The7ferret has a point. If you're not going to lower it a lot and you don't want a track-hard ride, the Nismo setup has gotten really good feedback. OR, Ted at Scott Performance just told me he's in love with Koni adjustables and Eibach springs (and he tracks his roadster) I just installed JICs and they ride harder than most people would like.

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping for inputs from HKS RS owners, but appreciate other options.

I think Jason @Performance Nissan is or was running the HKS on his car. He's really helpful.

I have the RS on my G. The ride is nice, handles great. I've had it adjusted so my car is about as stiff as stock (Front 5 turns from full soft, rear 7 turns from soft). My car is pretty low too. Now I have it set at Front 9 turns from full soft, Rear 12 turns from full soft. The setup is almost neutral, just a touch of understeer. BTW, my sways are set at front - soft, rear - med.

Yeah, I'd recommend them. I used to have the Tokico/H-tech combo before and didn't like the progressive spring on the H-techs. Plus, the Tokico rears are a pain to adjust. So, I swapped out that setup for the RS. Had them on for about 8k and I don't have any complaints. The guy who installed my suspension has the LS+ for the G and he did a ton of homework on his suspension. He highly recommended the RS to me. I think the difference between the RS and the LS+ is the spring rate for the front, the LS+ being stiffer.

Main reasons I got the RS:
1. Got a good deal on them
2. Is one of the best coilovers as far as suspension travel is concerned
3. Easily adjustable, front and rear(if you have a rim that allows you to reach in).
4. 30 setting adjustable
5. Streetable spring rates
6. Highly recommended by knowledgable people

i, too, have the HKS RS....i think these are very good coilover for not only street but for the occaional track as well. good quality, reasonable price, well-known name brand...btw, hks uses them on their track cars (so i was told by a guy from hks)
yes, i recommned them

Actually Tein 350Z H-tech's are not progressive in the front like Tein will say they are, the rear's are of course also not progressive. Tein 350Z S-techs are most definately progressive in the front.

Ok, thanks for the correction. I think tein should fix their specs for the H-Techs then. My complaint about the H-tech, tokico setup was in high speed sweepers. I'd hit a bump and the front end would float causing understeer. I thought the float was due to the progressive spring in front. Given that the front H-tech is really linear, could it be that the Tokicos were rebounding poorly?

What did you have the D-specs set to? 5 turn's off of full soft is what I would do for the initial setup and go from their.
