I gave up looking for a 17" wheel that would fit over the 14" Stoptech kit, and got 18x9.5 for all four corners. It wasn't worth my time and effort to test fit rims. Plus, I didn't want to run 10" wide rims up front just to clear my brakes. I think I would have had problems clearing the fender or the vertical control arm.

This thread ended up at a dead end (for me).

what wheels did you end up going with?

you can fit 10 up front with no clearnace problems if its the correct offset and at most a 275 tire...

im working with enkei on making a set of wheels exclusive for the 350z...

If anyone wants my Weds TC-05's they're 17x9.0 et 20 all around and clear the Stoptech 14's... I know it's not a long term solution for everyone, but at least one of you can benefit from these rare wheel

I ended up going with the 18" NT-03's similar to yours. There weren't many wheels to select from, as I really wanted the 9.5" width all around with roughly +30 offsets. I narrowed it down to the Work Emotion CR Kai's, rear Nismo LMGT4's, and the NT-03's. I did not want to run spacers greater than 5mm either. $ was a huge criteria, and the CR Kai and the NT-03 were the only ones left in the selection after I decided all I wanted to spend was around $1300. Less $ would have been great, but they would have been much heavier wheels too.

I even called CCW to have them make a 17" custom fitment, but they could not. They actually recommended I call BBS. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be able to afford a custom set of BBS since their off the shelf wheels are already pricey.

From what I hear, the NT-03's are strong for a light-weight cast wheel. Some folks had problems with flex in the RPF1 when running R-comps, so I steered clear of ultra light cast wheels, as I suspect they shave off weight in the spokes while retaining strength in the barrel.

I went with your advice and bought FN01R-C 17x10 +25 up front, along with 17x10 +12 in the back. I will be stretching the tire, going with NT01 245/45 stretching the front, and going a little oversquared with 275/40...the diameters would be affected with the streched tire, but not by much. I would have to stretch it anyways to clear the rear of the tire otherwise I'd be hitting the suspension. Thought about going with RA-1 255/40 and 275/40 but I was unsure about back of tire clearance up front.

Since this is a 14" brake thread, it's good to know that 17" rims will fit 14" stoptechs.

back from the dead

FN01R-C 17x10 +25 w/245/40 in front, 17x10 +12 w/275/40 in back. The pic is of the car right off the jacks, I forgot to take one with the suspension at static rest. Looking at the tires, I couldve gone with 255/40 but I found these tires fore really cheap...they're used Goodyear GS CS roadrace tires with lots of life left on them...can't go wrong with these - it was $400 for used *good* tires vs $900+ for new RA-1 tires. Sorry I dont have more pics..I'll take more another time

Just got my FN01R-C yesterday.

Mmmmmh... flat black, 17x9 and 17x10.

I was surprised, both front and rears are now availlable with an +35 Offset! Much closer to stock (+30/+33), no need for spacers.

We do need tuner splined nuts tought.

636Racer, I was wondering whether you'd have any fender clearance issues with such aggressive offsets. My street tires (255 on 9.5 +22 wheels) sometimes brush up against the screws behind the front fenders. I have the hotchkis springs; with stock spring height, I'd probably be fine. That is why I didn't go with the recommended 10" +25 rim up front. Looks great nontheless!

I'm thinking of running these with 275 V710's, but just put 1" drop racing springs on and don't know if there will be a clearance problems???

Btw, these wheels only weight 15.6 lbs in the above stated size... how does that compare with the FN01R-C?

I've weighted mine on my home scale. Note sure of the reliability...

17x9 +35 --> 20.0lb
17x10 +35 --> 21.6lb

Under 900$ for a set, shipped.

They should clear the brembo but there is another discrepancy you should be worried about. I test fitted 17x9 +35 FN01R-1 and clearance behind the rim was tight. with 275 wide tires, tire buldge might be of some concern because you might end up rubbing the tire against the spindle arm, then you'd have to run a 5mm-10mm spacer and extended studs to clear.

Under hard corning and braking - so far...no issues. The car isnt lowered - still sitting on OEM shock/struts and springs but, I'm using Progressive swaybars. The front rims do stick out a little bit. I havent measured by how much...but I'm guessing between 1" and ½", the rear were a little more. but since the front tires are 245/40...there's a nice stretch to them (it's not as bad as some people may think) and top of the tire width clear the fenders edge. probably moreso when the suspension is under compression when cornering and braking, and the naturally giving off negative camber.

Could be some fish-eye effect from the tiny camera I used.

They clear the Brembos very well. I'll get more pictures tomorrow.

I like the matte finish for the No Show All Go look.

Can't wait to try these at MidOhio !

My FN01R-C's came in yesterday!!!! A quick weight on my bathroom scale came up with 22 lbs for the 17x10 25mm offset, and 18 lbs for the 17x9 35 offset. A bit pissed as Hop Up lists the 17x10's at 18 lbs.......Oh well, they're lighter than my MB Motorspotr Comps by a bunch and they look nasty in flat black! A big thanks to SPL Parts!

A few local track junkies have Stoptech 14" brakes, and I'll be checking if these wheels fit the big rotors in a few weeks......
