The squishing sound you guys are referring to is normal. It's just the oil moving through the dampers. I secretly enjoy listening to my koni's do it. Metal upper mounts make it more pronounced too.

Z1, I just noticed your sig. Your car is a beast!

I must really be doing something wrong with these coilovers but get this.. I've been trying to track down a clunking noise in the back of my car for weeks.. I finally took every piece of plastic/carpet out of the trunk and had my friend drive around with the rear seats down so I could listen and sure enough, the sound was from both rear shock tower areas.

I pulled the shocks and replaced them with the stock units, and my car is absolutely silent again. but, I tried to compress both zeals by hand and I have another one that won't rebound properly...... have any of you had them off of your car after some mileage to even see if this is happening?

hmmm....
who did the install?
take it back to them...
also...
a good thing to do would be to make sure the top nuts on the rear shock are still tight...

Well, my Zeal Function V6 coilovers settled so much that we ran out of adjustment room...can't raise the car and it's sitting at 26.0 inches from ground to center of fender. She's in the shop now...going to take some pics of the springs and send them to Endless engineers to see what's what.
They have been very good with communication about the issue and I am hopeful we can reach a solution soon. The Zeals have been on the car since July...but only about 800 miles driven since then.

for the rears are you raising height by the spring or the shock?

you can only change height via the spring

briang35 - I'd check the lower mounting bolts...these are prone to coming loose at times on a variety of coilovers, and the sound resonates up through the tower. The other area is the center nut (I think its a 17mm or 19mm) at the top of the pillowball - we've found that zapping it quick with an impact gun at around 70 foot lbs, and using thread lock ensures it won't work loose

Wow I haven't had to adjust my springs anywhere near that much, I have the rear spring seat probably an inch above yours and it still gives me a bit of room on the wheel well on a 275x40x18 tire.

I'm using a nylon lock nut on the lower bolts and they were installed with an impact at 120psi and it didn't seem to be loose when I removed the shocks this time. I also checked the top nuts but couldn't figure out a way to hold the shock and use the impact so I used a large wrench and held the top of the shock shaft but I couldn't move them by hand at all.

Are you guys using the stock dust shields on these?

you dont need to hold the shaft to tighten the upper nut - the impact will spin the nut faster than it will turn the shaft, thus torquing it down
