Now I know that the 350Z does not handle quite like the STi and EVO out of the box, but with some suspension mods, can it be made to handle as good or better than the STi and EVO? What kind of stuff should be done to achieve this? Thanks in advance for the help!

The STi has sluggish steering that is ambiguous (you don't get road feedback) and is prone to understeer compared to the Z or Evo.
When you say you want to have "better handling," define what you mean by that. What is it that you are looking for? The highest ultimate grip, more road feedback? A more communicative steering feel? There are different way to acheive all of this but you have to know what you want first.

I think you mean predictability. The Z and EVO are predictable onthe road, and correct them selves easily. The STI when i drove it, eh..i felt it wasn't connected to the road. I wasn't sure if and when i'd loose control.

sti is not the greatest handler to be comparing with... well of course you can correct it by feinting around corners and causing oversteer
evo... best
Z... rwd, power.. goood
upgrade sways, shocks and springs should get the Z to evo level
cheap suspension set up imo = any good springs(my pick would be rsr ti), koni shocks, any good sways (hotchikis? nismo? 350evo?)

I haven't driven the Evo, but my hubby has an '06 STi, and personally I don't like the feel of it's handling at all. Just doesn't feel sporty enough. I definitely prefer the handling of RWD cars.
