Really interested in the Tein Basics, but want to know if the ride gets harsh? Also, does this setup make the rear bouncy due to the stiffer spring and dampener?
I am also willing to look at other options if anyone cares to share there opinions and info on simpilar setups.
Thanx

I have TEIN Basics and the ride is not too harsh or bouncy with stock sway bars. Once I added Cusco sway bars however, it really stiffened the ride. Good coilover for the price.
Good luck!

Not too harsh, but definitely stiffer than a typical set of aftermarket progressive springs. (e.g. Eibach Pro-kit)
Definitely no bounce though, it tightens up when the car goes over road-asphalt transitions.
I read somewhere that the Basics are a tad softer than the other Tein Coilovers (e.g. Flex) at their lightest settings?

If your looking for coilovers with a little more comfort, try Tanabe Sustec Pro SOC's with the helper springs. They are considered in the same league as the Basics but priced a little more because of the helper springs. The helper springs are suppose to provide a more comfortable ride while driving in the street.

you can get springs that are of similar spring rates like the RSR...
here is a list of the springs that can be used with the TEIN Basic...

and the rear 350Z / G35 set up has specific springs...

you can go up or down 2 spring rates from what came with the suspension without re-valving... we have re-valving kits available but it is recomended your coil overs are sent to tein... (Just the dampers)

Basic's do not have a 2 Kg range for selecting different spring rates. You only have a 1Kg range as per Tein. The Flex and CS are the setup's can do +or- 2 Kg. Given that some Basic review's have mentioned that they do experience some bounce issues with their Basic's, I would not go higher when considering a rate change. Though Tein would be more then willing to revalve them. doing that will put you in a price range where you really should have made a better product choice to begin with.
