Default Brakes?

Ive got a 2003 Touring 6 speed with 32K miles on it. Just this last week the brakes have been "squealing". Not the high pitch squealing that im used from cars in the past that needed new brake pads though....it more sounds like birds chirping. Various pitches, not real loud, but annoying and it happens when i brake.

How hard is it to install brake pads on the car as far as the ABS goes? Ive done it on cars in the past but they werent ABS. Does ABS make it more difficult to do the job in any way? Thanks.

its easy as 1 2 3, but dont let it be.

seriously tho

lift car
remove wheel
loosen 1 14mm bolt on the caliper
remove the other 14mm bolt
rotate caliper up, exposing the pads
use c clamp to push piston back, use a clean sucker to remove extra fluid from master cylinder( dispose, never reuse)
remove pads
clean plates, shims
put shims, plates on new pads
place the pads
put the caliper back on
tighten both bolts
put wheel on
lower
move to next wheel

i suggest getting brake cleaner and some stop squeak for the shims. on a 1-5 z scale, id give it a 2z factor.

no problem! hope that helped. i mean i know theres no pics and its not 100% detail, just an overview. Its a very simple task and not worth paying someone to do.

and theres no greater feeling like doing it yourself.
