Assembling front Tokico D-Spec shocks
I recently purchased the Tokico D-Spec shocks along with H&R springs. I would like to put the front shocks together prior to install and not use the parts that come off the oem shocks. I think all I need to purchase are the Strut mount, Spring seat and dust shield, is this correct?
Do the front shocks have the bounce stops and if so do they need to be cut down, I remember I had to do this on my Eclipse? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

To do what you want you will need to purchase the following at your local dealer's parts counter. IMO, I would do local so that you can see a blown up diagram and know for certain that you are getting the correct parts. Word to the wise, you'll want the pictures from them because both the Nissan parts computer and the factory service manuel can call the parts some pretty off the wall names.
2 oem upper shock mounts (the factor service manuel calls them "mounting insulators").
2 oem upper spring seats (the soft rubber part that fits onto the upper shock mount)
2 oem bump stops/dust sheilds ( factory service manuel call them "bound bumpers" and not I didn't make that up).
2 oem upper shock nuts (the one's that go on the piston shaft at the top and bolt the shock to the upper shock mount.
Hope that helps. What you want to do won't be cheap, @$126

Thanks Gsedan35, I know it is more expensive but I wanted to try and make the install a little easier.
The parts locally would run about $160, so I ordered from Performance Nissan with shipping $115.
I did not order this < 2 oem upper shock nuts > I think I can get them locally.
Thank you for your assistance.

your correct, Mr.Jadkowski they are in the box.
I do have another question, will I still need the spring compressor to remove the front shocks from the car or can I just remove the upper control arm?

sorry for my noob question, my mechanic installed d-spec shocks
(still keep stock springs). I just gave him d-spec shocks only
Now i hear some weird sound, not sure caused by missing those
Gsedan35's suggestion list. My question is if i just replaced
d-spec only(no springs change) do i still need all the Gsedan35's
list
thanks,
Mike

No, the installer should have used all the oem stuff from the original shocks.
Drilled out the extension hole this afternoon. Although I didn't switch out the shocks it appears that the extensions might be a bit long I know they are made for the G, has anyone else already install exstensions on a Z.
