Tanabe GF210 Series 350Z progressive springs 1”/1.2” drop
Spring rates in LBS 336/375

Curious, why not go with the Tokico D-spec shock and spring setup?

Tokico 350Z linear springs 1"/1" drop
Spring rates in LBS 375/375

I already had the Tanabe GF lower spring on my car for over half year, I like them and just want some advice on the Tokico D-spec+Tanabe GF combo set up, the stock suspension is too soft for me when cornering.

Did the springs alone make a big difference in handling?

You'll get more of what your looking for with the Tokico shock and spring setup. However, you can adjust the D-spec shocks to be stiffer then 04.5+ oem shocks and slightly stiffer vs 03/04 oem shocks. Be advised that a 1.2" drop with just a mild spring rate increase that the GF210's have will mean you have some issues relating to suspension travel (bump travel), turning up the D-specs high may or may not save you in that regard.

Let's say, if I go with this set up (D-spec+Tanabe GF) and turn the D-spec shocks to the highest stiffest level, what kind the main major issue for me to look out?

1. That you will have enough suspension movment for the given road condition's you frequent as to allow proper tire contact at all times.

2. Or that your just tightening up how the chassis behaves when your bump stops are bouncing off the tops of the shocks, while driving straight and around corners. Here's a thread about Koni shocks with GF210 installed, notice the complaint. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ht=koni+bounce

I've run this combo before on a couple of local cars....has worked out great. With the tanabe's in the car, the trick is to actually firm the koni's up, not make them softer - their low speed dampening characteristics are not the greatest, especially when combined with 19 inch wheels and low aspect ratio tires. Takes a bit of playing around to get them perfectly dialed in, but once there, it will work well. Alot of the overal ride quality on any suspension is relative to the tires you're using, and the pressure's you run - they all work as a unit.

I have not used the D Spec's with anything other than D Spec springs as of yet
