Default TEIN Super Street Coilovers w/ EDFC

Anyone have information on when these will be available or if they are already out? I heard these were suppose to be out this year for the 350Z & I saw a magazine the other day that mentioned this as well (no date). All it said was it will be out for 2006. These coilovers are supposedly an improved version of the Basics without the harshness of the Flex during daily driving & the added option of the EDFC that the Basics doesn't have. Sounds like a perfect setup! I just installed the Stance SUS but these have totally caught my eye now

Oh so now their on again with the SS. Hmm, they told me about a year and a half ago that they had a developement car at the office with them on and they'd be comming out shortly. Called them back like a month latter about something else and happened to ask about the SS and it was like, "Nope no SS for the 350Z", "develpement car no, who told you that"?

So I have to wonder what they sell spec them at. They have had the SS avaliable in Japan for a long time, but look at this. Notice the latest spring rate spec for the Z, yuck!

Tein SS JDM (twin tube construction, adjustable dampners )
(JDM only at this time. 10-12 weeks delivery, come via ship)
Spring rates 392/314-392 (rear’s are progressive)
Stiffer then oem by F+25% R+15% at peak
*UPDATE*^ spring rate specs have been changed
350Z 280/394
G35 coupe 392/392
G35 sedan (listed as skyline pv35) 392/392

Of course here's the current Basic setup we have now

Tein Basic (twin tube construction, non adjustable dampners )
Spring rates 504/504
Stiffer then oem by F+61% R+43% (vs 03/04 oem only)

I didn't even know they made a SS for our cars in Japan. The spring rates are the same as CST. But I'm sure the valving on SS is more aggressive. It might be a good compromise between comfort and performance, good for daily drivers with occasional track use. I'm gonna have to call my sale rep at Tein on monday

OK, I talked to my rep today. He told me they are NOT planning to release this to the US market. However, they DO have this availible in Japan. But since it is a Japanese, part, they cannot gaurentee fitment or anything like that. So if we buy it and it doesn't work, then we can't return it on that basis. However as we were talking, and matching up part number, him and I do both agree that it should work w/o any problems. I think I might try it out... 2-3mo. special order time though.

^ Nice! Let us know how it goes. Yeah, I don't think there is a difference between the Japanese & US versions as far as suspension setups go. Can anyone confirm?

There is no diffrence. That was my mistake. I thought I was posting on G35 Driver, haaaha. You guys with 350Z's have no problems. The Tein SS model was designed and test fitted around a 350Z. They said it might be compatible with a G35 as well, but since they did not design it around it, they cannot gaurentee. But for most of the US and J-Spec coilovers, the 350Z and G35 use the same part number, so it shoudl be no problem either way. But the 350Z guys have nothing to worry about, as it was designed on your car.

Anyone feel like ordering some?

Yeah, that's what I thought. I may jump on these later but I'm still working out the details in getting my new wheels first.

Damn I'm really interested in getting these now. Just gotta come up with the cash! Hahaha, that's always the hardest part

These should be inbetween FLEX and CST. Not as stiff as FLEX for daily driving, but not as soft as CST so good for occasional track use as well. And the SS model is CHEAPER than both the CST and FLEX.
