Default Does This Happen To You "Clanking, Clunking, Knocking" Noise with TRUE COILOVERS

Hi All,

I had some Stance Coilovers installed a few months ago and I've noticed a loud clanking noise coming from the rear right mostly. The sound is more apparent at lower speeds on bumpy surface. The sound is constant with every little bump. This noise is driving me insane. It sounds like the car is falling apart.

Now, I've done a lot of searching and some suggestions/possible problems are as follow:

1. Place flat rubber piece to upper shock mount
2. Tighten bolts that secures the upper shock mount
3. Adjust Preload
4. Week Rubber Bushing for lower mount (suggested by tonywenzel)

Now, anyone have any suggestions on a fix or wat EXACTLY the problem is since from what I've read, this has been a common problem for people who have gone with the TRUE COILOVERS.

if you have preload, then remove all preload. just adjust the height via lower bracket on the strut-thats why they're there

the reason why I say that because you hadthem installed. its easier to adjust height via preload, and when they were adjusting and fine tuning your ride height, they did it that way, versus doing it the correct way.

just simple lazyness

thats my guess atleast

Check your rear end links. I have a similar situation (only in front) when I set my sway bars to the tightest setting. The front end links are loosened, and it makes the clunking sound when I'm driving slow and going over bumps. Go to the site below for information on end links when installing coilovers like yours:

I installed some last week and i had thumping and thuds going on really bad over everybump. I figured the problem out to be a non-fully tightend top nut. I tightend it, road tested and the thuds are gone.

Go thru and take out the shock and check all of the adjustments, reinstall the coilovers make sure that everything is tight and good 2 go, and don't forget to check the former spring support 17mm nut and screw to make sure all that stuff is trump tight. Good Luck
