I have Cusco on my '06 and I had Stillen on my '04. I never had any problems with my Stillen bars, which were installed by the dealership. But I had those noises start shortly after I had my Cusco bars installed by a local speed shop. So I had my dealership check it out during my next service interval. It turned out that the speed shop that installed the sway bars did not torque the bolts/nuts to spec, so they became loose.
My dealership tightened them back up to spec and I have had no noise or problems with my Cusco sways since... and that was about 10,000 miles ago.
Needless to say, I will not be going back to this speed shop ever again, since they can't even do something as simple as putting on a set of sway bars correctly.
It also isn't a very valid poll because you're not finding out how many are out there. If there are 10,000 Hotchkis and 100 Cuscos in use, and 100 Hotchkis and 5 Cusco users report problems, which one is better? The Cusco because only 5 people had problems? Or the Hotchkis because of the lower percentage (1% vs 5%) of problems.
i dont have em on my Z. but i had suspension techniques sways on my 98 civic, and they made noise at times.... turns out i pinched the bushings off my endlinks. just had to get some new bushings... that would probably be yer problem since everyone else has replied with no sounds. and its probably on the front too... i never had a problem with the bushings on the rear.... wait yes i did. never mind ;x
I have hotchkis and no, no noises........ I have so much clacking and popping from my Nismo Lsd and Clutch/ flywheel combo.. I prob wouldnt know anyways.. Lol.. It wouldnt bother me..
I had a clunking noise with Cusco stabilizers, however I had a major accident before I had a chance to see if it was the culprit or not. Since my front and rear subframe and lots of suspension pieces were replaced, I haven't had the problem anymore.
I know I have said this several times already, but check the brackets that secure it to the frame. Even though they may look secure, I have found that they can be tweaked a bit that then causes "clunks" when driving.
