HELP! Sway bar install

HELP! Sway bar install
How in gods name did you get the stock bolts off of the front sway? I cant seem to do it...
it is impossible, I have a bolt extender, but it still seems like there is no room to get it done.
do did you do it?
I have an '06 if that makes a difference

if you search...youll find people advising using penetrating spray to loosen up the bolts...they never mentioned a brand or anything..but i dont mind asking that at the local hardware store or autozone or something...

Try to find some PB Blaster penetrant. Pep Boys usually has it. Don't know what the temperature is in your work area, but cold, tight bolts are a bear to break loose. A warmer work area could help along with a good dose of PB Blaster. The torque wrench shouldn't be used to break bolts loose.

Well I gave it my best shot, and managed to break only one bolt. I'll be taking it to a shop this weekend =\ . It'll be the first time ive ever had to have a shop install something for me..very sad..
Anyway, anyone know how much a front/back sway install should be? and a good shop to do it in the SF bay area?

I used handtools also. Jack up the car higher so you have more clearance. Remember to use jackstands too. Try using a breaker bar if you don't have impact tools. What I used was my socket wrench + the handle off my jack to make my own breaker bar. It worked and I got it off but took some effort.

have you tied using a rubber mallet and the wrench? idk if youre nto supposed to do that....but it hasnt hurt me yet on the random things i cant do by hand

A breaker bar is a must. I'm not sure how much clearance you have, but I was on some jackstands and was able to use a 15'' breaker and a 6'' extension. They all came right out! Trying to do it with a regular wrench was impossible.

Nothings Impossible. As stated, keep ur socket extention as short as possible because transmited energy is lost the longer it is, and use a breaker bar with an extention thats 4 ft if u have to.
If a bolt is just plain tite and virgin ( as in an 06 ) or even an 03, all the penatrating oil in the world is not going to help. Penatrating oil isnt magic and cant penatrate what it cant get to. Ur wasting ur time and the oil. All u need is muscle, whether it be ur own, or artificially increased via a breaker bar, or ideally an air Impact.
So I dont get ranted on ---Penatrating oil is great, I use Liquid Wrench. I have soaked rust seized pistons, previously removed bolts and pins that are seized, along with heat ( Butane torch, and I RELIZE penatrting oil is flammable ) rims that are seized on the hubs, U-joints that are stuborn etc etc. But they are in all instances, situations where at one time that part has been assembled/reassembled.
Good Luck !!!! AND those bolts dont have to go back that tite---Assembly line bolts are just plain too tite usually---Use Anti-Seize on reassembly. I even use it on U-Joint cups, the next guy will thank u.

This has all been great advice. I will definitely equip my garage with a few more tools after reading this thread.
But, for now, my hands are too beat/cut up to want to go tackle that thing again, so I think I'll just take it to a shop anyway. I just hate the thought that I couldn't do it myself.

Yah I know I know. It was a cheap torque wrench, and it gets replaced for free if it breaks. Thats the reason why I use it. When I did my spring install on my tc, I actually broke a breaker bar. Thats when the torque wrench stepped up and took its place.
