2007 lowering springs

im not looking to change the wheels but i do want to lower my car. what springs do you recomend to lower. i was told the tanabe gf210 where good also a short shifter is it neccesary considering we already have a close ratio gear box
Coil overs aren't neccassary, but they do stiffen up the ride a bit. The 06+ suspension is too soft & spongy imho. Springs alone won't do much except lower/ raise the car.
