Default Tanabe underbrace opinions

I've done some searching in the Suspension forum and haven't found anything that gave me opinions about the Tanabe underbrace. I am thinking about getting it to compliment the mods in my signature. I was wondering though, with the lowered stance will I have problems getting into or out of driveways? I know tha tthe Tanabe underbrace seems to stick down a little ways under the car. Anyone who's installed this, do you have any problems with rubbing it? Also, have you noticed any significant handling changes after adding this piece? I'm wondering if it's worth the $160 and added weight? Thanks a lot guys,
Fletch

im getting one in the future, its about the same size as the gtspec underbody brace (except it goes in front of it) and my gtspec brace sits about an inch+ lower, so it scrapes on some stuff, but it doesnt affect the way it performs. and yes, it helps with handling, and stiffening up a bit. as for weight, its only about 5 pounds, these things are aluminum i believe, and are designed with light weight in mind. probably weighs less than the chrome grill accents in your sig

Yeah, those are gone now, . Haven't updated it and they weren't real chrome, just plastic, haha. I just wanted to know if anyone had them installed and had experienced much of a difference in handling from them, .

I've got it but can't really comment on it individually.

I installed it with all the GT Spec bars and ladder all at the same time.

The car is stiff.....

I like.

I have it installed, and it seemed to help the car "rotate" better when corner, if that makes any sense. I installed it after my GT spec bars and still noticed a difference. I dont have the GT spec ladder brace though, just the others.

However, be aware it sits VERY low, especially if your car is lowered. I am dropped about 1.5" on coilovers and my tanabe has experienced significant abuse. The pics might shock you. lol. I will take some tommorow if you want to see the carnage.

But, its just a hunk of metal, so I dont feel bad when I bang it up.

That is one of the things I was a little worried about because I have Tanabe GF210's (so about 1 1/4" drop) and I already have to go into the driveway at an angle to avoid scraping the botom of the bumper, . I'm thinking about doing the GT Spec braces as well (everything but the ladder brace).

Be careful banging that piece of metal up because it will push the frame of your car upward where it connects

BTW: the braces are very well worth it. Make sure to get the GT Spec bar installed at the same time, you'll notice a difference.

I have the Tanabe underbrace, along with all the GTSPEC braces installed (to include the ladder brace). In addition, my Z is lowered approximately 2". I scrape often so I have to watch where I drive closely. However, my Z is awesome to drive in autocross -- it is very stiff and it drives like a go-cart. There is hardly any body roll -- my Z eats slaloms for breakfast!

In other words, he has the Tanabe underbrace, plus the GT Spec ladder brace and the other GT Spec braces right?

I'm referring to the mid-chassis brace when I meant ladder brace.

The Tanabe underbrace is in front of the GTSPEC mid-chassis brace. Do a search in this forum and you'll find several pictures already posted with this setup.
