I saw those. Pretty expensive, however, for some brake lines.

They are identical in design to the factory ones which incorporate 3 lines for each front wheel using those brass connector blocks. I have no clue why they designed it that way. The Stoptech lines are a single line. So besides the name you are also paying for 4 additional lines.

SGP makes a SS brake line set for the 350Z and it is considerably less than Nismo's.

I recently put stop tech braided lines on my car. They work fine...subjectively 'somewhat' firmer pedal. I was surprised at the complexity of the front lines, and couldn't see any reason for three separate lines and junction blocks.

I would really like to understand why three junctioned lines would be needed or wanted. wouldn't it just provide more brake fluid to compress before getting to the calipers. Not to mention several additonal points of failure. And the added cost for (if stock is like that too) the extra connection hardware / junctions. I don't understand why Nissan would spend the extra bucks if there wasn't a good reason for it...

I had the impression that the stock Z brakes have the same complex front lines. I wonder if any other of the current Nissan cars have this three line arrangement? i.e. Altimas, Maximas, or Sentras, Murano, G35, etc. Do any other companies have a similar system.

StopTech is a reputable company. They made their braided brake lines without comment about the difference between stock and their braided lines.

Brake fluid doesn't compress but you're right longer rubber brake lines = more flexibility and expansion and therefore softer pedal feel.
