Budget Brake Setup
I am looking to change my brakes up. I have an 07 non brembo and my goal is good stopping power with the least amount of noise I can get away with (and keep the price down). Not so much going for looks as I am performance. I will probably be doing some Track but nothing seriously competitive. Here is what I have in mind so far.
Front:
Wilwood BBK
Back:
Stoptech Slotted Rotors
Endless Ceramic Pads or Hawk
StopTech Brake Lines
I would also like a recommendation on Fluid.

if you are just looking for better braking power, i would suggust:
stoptech rotors all around
Endless brake pads
Stoptech stainless steel lines
Motul brake fluid
I think brake feel will be most different with the stainless lines. I have brand new endless pads for the brembos but have yet to put them on. Looking to get new rotors first. I would stay away from the Hawks. I hated them.

Even as a dealer I'm not certain I see the Wilwood kit on the "budget end" of this. A good price point of $1500+/- on this end of the car alone.
The rest of this will be a nice "enhancement" but unless you need new rotors out back it's simply money spent for zero gain. The stock rotors remain fine and just the pads and hoses will provide the same results.
For fluid, the Wilwood kit does not require special or costly fluid. DOT3 remains fine unless you have a need for a higher level of fluid. There's again; no gains in performance by way of fluid. Unless you boil what you run now, (and that threshold will go up with a front kit) you're only buying a name. Not a result.
You'd do well to consider the front kit, some rear hoses, maybe rear pads if needed and some Valvoline or other common fluid. I bet you can do the whole thing for well under $1800
Tod I was considering that 4 pot Wilwood kit that was 870 shipped the other guy bought (just fronts). Do you think I would see the same results with just lines and pads up front? BTW thanks for the feedback guys.
Before you spend money, go to the track at least once on your OEM setup. Then, if you still feel you need to upgrade, you will be able to compare your stock setup to the changed component(s).

They say the 2006 brakes are pretty good, but I can tell you they get sloppy quick for me.
I tend to agree with "thinking" a bit here as well.
As for the $870 Wilwood kit, it's not a Wilwood kit so I cannot speak of it's values good or bad. While the caliper is perhaps a Wilwood product this alone does not indicate good or bad about how it will perform and how it's balanced or not with any rear options. You'd have to defer to the company who makes it for more specific data.

Ok after the feedback I think I am going to do Technafit SS Lines, put a synthetic brake fluid in after the bleed, and the endless pads. I keep hearing great things about Technafit but if any of you guys had bad experience with them let me know.
