Default Hawk HPS or Project Mu NS Street pads

Which would be the best bet as far as daily driving is concerned.... I've never tracked my car and don't really plan on it so just looking for a good daily driver pad.. Should I just go OEM even or would it be worth the extra cash to upgrade? Where do you think I can find the best prices on your choice as well?

I have never used the Project Mu pads, but I have used the HPS pads. I would not recommend the HPS to anyone. Less initial bite and copious amounts of dust. Not worth it IMO.
OEM pads are actually pretty good.

I was considering Hawks and EBS, maybe I should consider Project Mu also...

HPS = Too much dust for my Volks.

Sad face.

Currently using the Axxis. They also squeak.

I went through a set of front Hawk HPS pads and I recently installed front and rear sets of Project MU street pads.

I do not track this car, but here are my impressions:

The Hawk pads generate a lot less dust that the stock pads, and I felt like they had minimally better grip. What worried me, however, is that they started squealing toward their end of life. when the brakes place looked at my rotors, they told me they had deep groves in them. Not good.

I had them resurface my front rotors and install the Project Mu pads. They are currently quiet, but they are already generating more brake dust than the Hawk pads. They do seem to have better grip than the Hawks but I have only had them on for a few weeks.

I autocross/DD with HPS pads. Compared to stock, they hardly dust at all, they last twice as long and are very kind to the rotors.

They do not bite as hard as stock pads, but they still stop the car fine. They just take a little more effort on the brake pedal to get the same results.

For DD, I think these are great pads.

Wow! I've recently installed the HPS pads and had the complete opposite experience. (I don't have Brembos. Maybe that's the diff) I DD my Z 105mi every day. With OEMs I was detailing my rims EVERY NIGHT. Now with Hawk HPS I'm back to detailing weekly and a week of dust is equal to 1 day of OEM dust.

The bite is solid for street but not as quick as OEM. Decent for DD but I wouldn't want to use HPS on the track.

I'll probably try something else next time. (I want OEM bite and HPS low dust with minimal rotor destruction and no noise. I guess I want it all.)

I love my NS pads.

Stopping power is great.

Dust is almost non-exsistant.

They make no noise.

Reasonably priced.

Perfect set up for the street.

Not go OT...but what would a dealer charge to change out the brake pads? Whethere they are oem or aftermarket!

Thanks,
Ravi

I had the same experience. But he is talking about the autocross HP Plus pad. The HPS Street and HPS pads are much more different from the HP Plus pad. The HP plus is not ment for daily driving. It was designed for high heat applications, completely disregarding dust and noise.
