350EVO Sway bars.........Bar info and pics
Behold......
The 350EVO front and rear adjustable sway bars.
Front and rear bars are three hole adjustable 32mm solid.
The OEM torsional deflection rate on the front sway bar is 1100 lbs./ in
The 350EVO front bar
soft 1010 lbs/in
Middle 1225 lbs/in
stiff 1460 lbs/in
The OEM rear bar is 380 lbs/in
The 350EVO rear is 23mm solid
Soft 370 lbs/in
middle 475 lbs/in
stiff 580lbs/in
The 350EVO rear bar is a different design than most..... as we have done away with the nasty bends the OEM bar has. The stock (OEM) bends take away from the torsional deflection rate and or the accuracy of a sway bar. (with this design you can run a smaller diameter bar and have a higher deflection rate.)
We were the first ones to run a true dual exhaust and also took this into thought when the bar was designed.
We are working to develop a complete suspension package for the Z through our motorsports program with Schuitemaker Motorsports. Our bars offer a variety of adjustments that can help fine tune the Z to differnt conditions.
The bars will be offered in bright red or gloss black and will be $500 ( for the set) + shipping. We will start taking orders next week and will have ten sets available.
we will be racing at the California Speedway this coming weekend.

I have a question.
what are the stock sizes in mm.
your's are 32mm front and 23mm rear.
none of the swaybars for the z seem to offer stiffer bushings.
is this not important. are the bushings and hardware sufficient?

The OEM bar is hollow ours is solid. I believe they are about the same diameter.
Our sway bars come with new polyurethane bushings for our bars. Yes stiffer bushings help. These are much stiffer than the OEM bushings.
If a bushings aloows for too much flex this wil also take away form the bars efficency.
The stock drop links can be used with our bars and in all the positions.....however we will be offering a new adjustabe drop link in the future. This drop link allows for precise corner weighing the car...it is not needed to be adjust the bars stiffness.

Wow great work. Would you happen to know the torsional deflection rate for the Nismo bars? I would like to compair the two, as your bars are close to the same price. I really like the adjustability of yours, thanks for putting forth so much effort to the Z community.

Great work. I'm new to the mechanics of suspension tuning (although I'm familiar with the theories and the concepts involved,) and I'm curious what it takes to modify the setup of the bars from one stiffness setting to the next. Does it require any special tools? Can it be done with the wheels on, or do they need to come off in order to access the tuning points of the bars? Thanks!

I've been hounding BJ about these bars since he first mentioned them back in the winter or fall. I'm almost certain he told me that the stiffer settings on the Evo bars are VERY similar to the deflection rates of the Nismo bars.
Hopefully one of those 10 sets have my name on them! I have an autoX on the 15th that I'd love to have these for...race wheels/tires should be here by then as well...should put the smack down in my class. Maybe I can chalk up the first autoX class win on these bars? I'm thinking soft front setting, middle rear setting to begin with...

That would only be if I gave two shiz about SCCA! I run NASA, M Club, and PCA. SCCA courses in my area are tiny, too tight, and slow. I like a slightly more open course in a big lot. The clubs I run with have classifications based on points for modifications. For example, swaybars might be one point, while full coilovers are 2 or 3 points...a supercharger or turbo upgrade may be 5. Once you get a certain number of points, you're bumped up a class...and so on. I think it's a much better system, and our racing is always very tight. Top 5 spots in most classes are many times all within half a second of eachother.

Going softer on the front (compared to stock) might take out some of the understeer if you left the stock rear bar, though.

dwnshft, You mentioned a full suspension setup. Most of your stuff has been full race type parts. I don't need the adjustability of a full coilover racing setup, but want a better handling street car. With the announcement of the outragous prices of the NISMO S-Tune kit, I am looking for other spring/shock setups. Will you offer a street setup for this car, or just the more expensive adjustable components?

The Nismo sock and spring combo is a great set up for street and spirited driving.
Moton will be offering a more streetable shock package in the future but I am not sure on the pricing as of yet.
We will soon be doing a Koni shock with a spring package...cost on this is not know either at the moment.
Our adjustable upper control arms will be lower cost than the other arms availbe at the moment as with our lower control arms.
The 350EVO SB kit is expensive but it is also super high quallity. These parts are not cheap to make.
Our goal is to make quality products that are race proven and be fairly priced to the customer.

I think a lot of us are rethinking the NISMO S tune kit now that there doesn't seem to be a price break for the US. I would like to get rid of the dreaded bounce.......
